Role Overview:
As a Supply Chain & Vendor Sourcing Lead at Shay, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing supply chain processes, sourcing vendors specializing in hardgoods and ceramics, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring efficient operations management. You will play a crucial role in liaising with suppliers, analyzing data for procurement streamlining, and maintaining cost efficiency without compromising product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors both domestically and internationally
- Establish a reliable vendor network across ceramics, packaging, decals, and related categories
- Negotiate pricing, MOQs, lead times, and payment terms
- Enhance cost structures while upholding product quality
- Coordinate production timelines for On-Time-In-Full deliveries
- Collaborate with design and sales teams for new product development
- Improve inventory planning cycles to reduce stock-outs
- Develop strategies for alternative vendor sourcing to mitigate supply chain risks
- Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for vendor onboarding and procurement processes
- Conduct factory visits and quality audits as necessary
Qualifications Required:
- 25 years of experience in hardgoods procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management
- Prior experience in ceramics, homeware, tableware, kitchenware, or related categories is advantageous
- Proficiency in vendor negotiation and cost optimization
- Ability to work effectively with manufacturers and factory owners
- Understanding of production cycles, lead times, and capacity planning
- Detail-oriented with a strong follow-through
