Job Summary: We are seeking a versatile and highly competent educator to handle the Humanities portfolio for Middle and High School (Grades 6–9). The ideal candidate is a multitasker who possesses excellent linguistic flair to teach English and the analytical skills to teach History & Civics. As this role includes Grade 9, familiarity with the ICSE Board syllabus is crucial. Key Requirements Educational Qualification: • B.A. in English or History (Double major or English with History as a subsidiary subject is preferred). • B.Ed. is mandatory. • M.A. in English or History is an added advantage. Experience: Minimum 2 years of teaching experience. Candidates with prior experience handling both subjects in an ICSE environment will be given priority. Subject Expertise: • English: Mastery of Functional Grammar, Composition, and Literature (including Shakespeare for Grade 9). • History & Civics: Strong command over Indian History, World History, and the Indian Constitution/Civics. Desired Skills : • Interdisciplinary Teaching: Ability to draw connections between Literature and History (e.g., teaching the Victorian Era in History while teaching Victorian poetry in English). • Syllabus Management: Since this covers two major subjects, the candidate must have exceptional organizational skills to complete the vast syllabus for Grade 9 on time. • Language Proficiency: Impeccable spoken and written English is non-negotiable. • Exam Prep: Knowledge of ICSE marking schemes for both "Transformation of Sentences" (English) and "Structured Questions" (History). Responsibilities : • Deliver engaging lessons for English Language, Literature, and History/Civics. • Prepare students for the transition from middle school to the rigorous Grade 9 ICSE pattern. • Manage assessments, grading, and feedback for both subjects. • Encourage critical thinking, debate, and historical analysis in the classroom.
