This opportunity is for a clinical pharmacist role at a well-established community hospital with over 200 beds in Alexandria, LA. The position requires a dedicated professional with strong pharmacy clinical and retail skills who can support patient care through comprehensive medication management and collaboration with healthcare teams. Location: Alexandria, Louisiana Job Type: Contract (13 weeks) Schedule: • Four 10-hour shifts per week • Rotating schedule with shifts that may include 6:00 AM–4:30 PM, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM–11:00 PM • Every other weekend on-call Key Responsibilities: • Verifying medication orders promptly and accurately • Supervising pharmacy technicians and managing workflow • Consulting with physicians and nurses to optimize pharmacotherapeutic outcomes • Conducting pharmacokinetic evaluations and therapeutic drug monitoring • Utilizing EPIC and Pyxis systems effectively to support patient safety and medication dispensing Desired Experience and Qualifications: • Valid pharmacist license with all verifications up to date • Current BLS certification via the American Heart Association • Experience working in a clinical hospital setting preferred • Proficiency in EPIC and Pyxis or similar healthcare IT systems • Strong communication and supervisory skills This contract offers the chance to contribute directly to high-quality patient care within a dynamic and supportive team environment.
