Junior Sommelier

This opening is for India's Premium Leading Boutique Hotel chain opening a Wine Bar in North Goa- a first of its kind in India Responsibilities: Pre-opening:- • Operational Setup: Setting up cellar inventory systems, organizing storage, and establishing proper glassware and temperature controls. • Training & SOPs: Training service staff on wine knowledge, service standards, and POS systems. • Learning and a getting a deeper understanding of wines and their producers • Supplier Relations: Meeting with vendors • Candidate will be trained for all the following responsibilities. Post-opening: - • Set up and maintain the wine cellar, ensuring it is well-stocked to offer a variety of quality wines. • Arrange wine tastings for guests upon request, providing relevant information on the different grape varieties and wine-growing regions. • Work closely with the kitchen team to create harmonious and innovative food and wine pairings. • Contribute to training and mentoring waiters and waiting staff on the basic principles of the sommelier profession. • Sommelier responsible for organising and dispensing wines from the 'by the glass' menu and is constantly tasting and learning about the producers on our list. Candidate should be passionate about expanding your knowledge and using it to provide warm hospitality. • Off the floor, sommeliers will assist with the organization and administration of the wine programme Prerequisite: • Excellent communication & presentation skills • Proven experience as a server or similar role and 1-3 years of experience in wine service • Certification as a Sommelier, degree in hospitality, Court of Master Sommeliers (CMS) or WSET certifications are preferred. • Well groomed & highly motivated individual • Ability to offer excellent customer service • Availability to work during opening hours, including weekends and holidays
