GCP - Digital Cloud Engineer

Experience**: 8+ years (minimum 3 years on GCP) • Employment Type**: Full-time / Contract Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Google Cloud Architect with strong expertise in Apigee API Management, GCP Cloud Networking, and provisioning/managing AI services such as Vertex AI, Veo V3, and Speech-to-Text/Text-to-Speech APIs. The ideal candidate will architect and provision scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions on GCP, while collaborating with cross-functional teams across cloud modernization and AI initiatives. Key Responsibilities • Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure • Experience in managing GKE, Cloud Run, and serverless services • Design and implement robust, scalable architectures on Google Cloud Platform (Landing zone). • Lead infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Deployment Manager, or gcloud CLI. • Ensure secure and efficient network design using VPC, subnetworks, load balancers, Cloud NAT, VPNs, and Interconnects. • Implement IAM, service accounts, org policies, and VPC Service Controls for secure operations. • API Management (Apigee) • Design and deploy secure, scalable API proxies and developer portals using Apigee Edge/Hybrid/X. • Configure policies for traffic management, authentication, quota, caching, and transformation. • Integrate Apigee APIs with backend systems and monitoring/logging frameworks. • AI/ML Services Provisioning • Provision and manage Vertex AI components such as models, endpoints, pipelines, notebooks, and Feature Store. • Enable and manage Veo V3 (GCP video generation model) including access, quotas, and inference usage and ImageGen. • Configure and monitor Speech-to-Text / Text-to-Speech services for real-time and batch processing. • Ensure IAM roles, service enablement, and usage tracking for AI services. • Automation & DevOps • Automate infrastructure and service provisioning using IaC (Terraform, YAML, gcloud SDK). • Support CI/CD pipeline integration for application and model deployments. • Enable observability using Cloud Monitoring, Logging, and Error Reporting. • Governance & Optimization • Implement cost control mechanisms, usage quotas, and budget alerts. • Conduct periodic architecture reviews to ensure security, scalability, and compliance. • Document architecture, processes, and provisioning steps clearly for operational transparency. Required Skills • 3+ years of hands-on experience in GCP architecture, provisioning, and deployment. • Strong expertise in Apigee API Gateway – design, deployment, and lifecycle management. • Deep knowledge of GCP networking and security best practices. • Experience provisioning and managing Vertex AI, Veo V3, and Speech APIs on GCP. • Proficiency in Terraform, gcloud CLI, and service account/IAM configuration. • Good understanding of monitoring, logging, and billing optimization in GCP. Preferred Qualifications • GCP Professional Cloud Architect certification (required or in-progress). • Experience working in multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments. • Strong communication and documentation skills; ability to lead client conversations.
