Role Overview As the Project Manager for Solar EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), you will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of Commercial and Industrial (C&I) solar projects. You will lead the project lifecycle from site survey and design coordination to procurement, installation, and final commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and as per international quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Project Planning & Execution: Develop detailed project schedules, resource plans, and milestones. Ensure on-site execution aligns with the approved Engineering Design and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Site Management: Oversee site surveys, shadow analysis, and structural integrity assessments for rooftop and ground-mounted C&I projects.
• Vendor & Contractor Management: Identify, onboard, and manage sub-contractors and vendors. Monitor their performance to ensure compliance with contract terms and safety norms.
• Procurement Coordination: Work closely with the supply chain team to ensure timely delivery of modules, inverters, and Balance of System (BOS) components.
• Quality & Safety (HSE): Enforce strict Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols on-site. Ensure the highest quality of workmanship in electrical and civil works.
• Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular progress reports and handling technical queries or site-specific challenges.
• Statutory Approvals: Coordinate with government bodies and DISCOMs for necessary permits, net-metering applications, and CEIG approvals.
• Budget Control: Monitor project expenses to prevent cost overruns and ensure optimal resource utilization.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Education: B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical or Civil Engineering. (PMP certification is a plus).
• Experience: 5–8 years of experience in Solar EPC, specifically managing C&I (Commercial & Industrial) projects.
• Technical Proficiency: * Deep understanding of Solar PV systems, string/central inverters, and AC/DC layouts.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, PVsyst, or MS Project/Primavera.
• Soft Skills: Strong leadership, negotiation skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet commissioning deadlines.
• Travel: Willingness to travel extensively to various project sites as required.
