Job Title: General Manager / Senior Manager – Legal (Real Estate) Location: Kolkata - Sector 5 Experience Required: 15–20 Years Qualification: LLB / LLM / Degree in Law CTC: Up to ₹20 LPA Industry Preference: Real Estate / Property Development Job Description We are looking for an experienced Legal Professional from the Real Estate sector to lead and manage all legal matters related to property development, land acquisition, and litigation. The role involves handling complex legal documentation, due diligence, regulatory compliance, and coordination with government authorities. The candidate will be responsible for litigation management, land acquisition due diligence, and legal compliance under real estate laws including RERA. Key ResponsibilitiesLegal Documentation & Advisory • Drafting and vetting of legal documents including: • Development Agreements / Joint Venture Agreements • Conveyance Deed / Deed of Transfer • Power of Attorney • Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) • Agreement for Sale • Gift Deed • Lease Deed • Leave & License Agreements Litigation Management • Handling litigation matters related to real estate and property disputes. • Drafting complaints, written statements, statutory legal notices, replies, petitions and counter affidavits. • Coordinating with solicitors, advocates, and senior counsel. • Experience in matters before judicial authorities including High Court. Due Diligence & Land Acquisition • Conduct legal due diligence for new land acquisition. • Verify land title, tenure, ownership and development rights. • Ensure compliance with local land and development laws. Regulatory Compliance • Ensure compliance with RERA Act and other real estate regulations. • Knowledge of Stamp Duty, Registration, Adjudication and property laws. • Understanding of municipal and development authority regulations. Government Liaison • Liaison with various government departments including: • West Bengal State Government • UDMA • ULC • KMC • PCB • Police Department Reporting & Management • Maintain MIS reports of ongoing legal matters. • Ensure confidentiality of sensitive legal information. • Provide legal advisory to management on strategic matters. Key Skills Required • Strong expertise in Real Estate and Property Laws • Extensive experience in legal drafting and contract vetting • Hands-on knowledge of RERA regulations • Strong litigation handling capability • Excellent English communication and drafting skills • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management abilities • High integrity, accountability, and attention to detail Preferred Candidate Profile • 15–20 years of experience in Real Estate Legal Practice • Proven experience as a Real Estate Lawyer / Legal Head / Senior Legal Manager • Prior experience dealing with land acquisition and property development matters Compensation & Benefits • Competitive salary based on experience and skill set • Family Mediclaim • Opportunity to lead the legal function Additional Information • Location: Kolkata • Travel: Intracity travel may be required for work-related purposes.
