Librarian (Kovur)

We require \"LIBRARIAN\" for St. Joseph's College of Arts & Science, Kundrathur Road, Kovur, Chennai. Job Description: - Collecting and cataloging library resources including books, films, and publications. - Helping people locate reference and leisure reading materials. - Maintaining library records and ensuring they are up to date. - Performing regular audits of the information and inventory on file. - Educating patrons on how to properly search for information using the library databases. - Assist students and faculty in locating reference materials and research resources. - Support NAAC/NIRF documentation related to library resources. - Coordinate with Principal, IQAC, HoDs, and faculty for resource planning. - Prepare budget proposals and monitor library expenditure. - To be honest and trust-worthy to the Institution. Qualification & Eligibility - M.Lib.Sc. / MLISc. with minimum 55% marks. - NET / SET qualification preferred (as per UGC norms). - Ph.D. in Library & Information Science (desirable). - Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a College / University Library (preferred). - Knowledge of library automation software and digital resource management.
