Role : QA & Devops Engineer Experience : 5+ years Location : Hyderabad (HYBRID) Mandatory Skills : Selenium, WebDriver, TestNG, Azure DevOps, SonarCloud / SonarQube, DevSecOps JD : Position Value Proposition The QA & DevOps Engineer is responsible for owning all Quality Assurance activities across supported applications while partnering with the DevSecOps Specialist to design, integrate, and improve DevOps practices. This role combines hands-on QA execution with DevOps support for CI / CD, automated testing, and quality / security gates. In many cases, the QA & DevOps Engineer will lead the initial design and implementation of CI / CD test workflows and QA automation, then transfer knowledge and day-to-day ownership to the DevSecOps Specialist for shared, long-term administration, governance, and KPI reporting. The engineer is expected to operate with moderate technical autonomy —researching options, prototyping solutions, and then collaborating with senior team members for validation and implementation. Core Responsibilities A. Quality Assurance Ownership (≈50%) • Partner with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and development teams to clarify requirements, define testable acceptance criteria, and maintain open communication channels. • Create, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test data for integration, system, regression, and UAT testing across all supported systems (e.g., SES, JMS, Visualizer, commercial platforms). • Design, build, and extend automated test frameworks (e.g., Selenium / TestNG or similar), ensuring tests are reusable, maintainable, and CI / CD-friendly. • Maintain and update QA documentation, runbooks, and procedures, aligning them with DevSecOps playbooks and audit requirements. B. DevOps & Pipeline Support (≈50%) • Lead the initial design and implementation of CI / CD pipeline test workflows (including build, test, and deployment stages) for supported systems, then execute structured knowledge transfer so the DevSecOps Specialist can assume long-term administration and governance. • Integrate automated tests into CI / CD pipelines by collaborating with the DevSecOps Specialist on build and release workflows. • Support SonarCloud by aligning test assets and quality criteria with established security and quality gates, under the direction of the DevSecOps Specialist. • Participate in deployment readiness and release coordination, validating that QA criteria are met before production deployments and supplying the necessary testing evidence for audit and change-control processes. • Collaborate on CI / CD troubleshooting and optimization : investigate test-related pipeline failures, propose improvements, and implement changes under guidance from the DevSecOps Specialist and the DevSecOps Manager. • Document DevOps-adjacent procedures (test automation patterns, pipeline QA stages, QA / DevOps runbooks) to support tribal knowledge capture, knowledge transfer to the DevSecOps Specialist, and DevSecOps roadmap execution. Additional Duties & Responsibilities • Support audit readiness by providing structured QA and testing evidence, including coverage of executed tests and sign-off artifacts aligned to compliance and internal controls. • Provide knowledge transfer for the DevSecOps Specialist, especially around test strategies, automation patterns, and quality gates. Core Competencies • Technical Autonomy with Collaboration – Able to independently research, design, and execute QA and DevOps solutions; proactively brings researched recommendations to senior team members for review. • Exceptional communication & stakeholder management – Proactively engages developers, product owners, business stakeholders, and infrastructure / DevSecOps peers. • Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple systems and releases while maintaining clean documentation and traceability. Work Experience Minimum of 5 years’ application QA experience, including hands-on test automation and exposure to CI / CD environments. Experience working with cross-functional IT / DevSecOps teams and business stakeholders. Education / Training Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Software & Technology • Automation frameworks : Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, BDD / Gherkin or similar. • CI / CD : Azure DevOps Pipelines or equivalent; working knowledge of how to integrate automated tests and quality gates. • DevSecOps and quality scanning : SonarCloud / SonarQube, with understanding of quality gates, vulnerability types, and coverage implications for QA. • Nice to have : Experience with AI-driven testing and automation tools. Work Environment This position may be based offshore (such as in India), and if so, it requires working primarily during India night hours to align with U.S. business hours and team availability. Regardless of location, the role may require occasional evening work to support maintenance, upgrades, or release activities. This role involves working with remote and cross-time-zone teams and internal users in a results-focused, flexible schedule culture with a strong emphasis on communication and reliability.
