Job Responsibilities • Develops department goals and strategies and ensure alignment with the hotel's business strategy. • Reviews financial reports and statements to determine how the department is performing against budget. • Plans the department budget in line with the hotel targets and strategy. • Participates in the revenue meetings and contribute towards achieving all revenue targets. • Analyzes information, plans expenses against forecasted revenues so as to ensure that the departmental EBITDA percentage is achieved on a monthly basis. • Manages and allocates resources to optimize cost in line with targets and conduct periodic reviews. • Maintains good relationships with the vendors and actively involve them in new product development and quality assurance. • Sources best products constantly and aim to improve quality by developing purchase specifications for products. • Conducts regular manager and departmental staff meetings to ensure an effective two-way communication process is followed. • Attends all Mancom and other hotel meetings as and when required. • Co-ordinates with the concerned department HOD to periodically review the equipment condition to check its efficiency and if a replacement is required. • Walks through all areas regularly to note and immediately rectify operational flaws if any. • Assists in liasion with Government Agencies. • Identifies locations for placement of cameras, guards, scanners, illumination and conduct random inspection at the entry & exit points to check for appropriate documentation & compliance to security guidelines. • Monitors activities at the main porch, valet parking, bomb check of cars. • Incharge of the overall security of the hotel. • Interacts with contract agencies for drafting, renewal of contracts and coordinate with Human Resources & Finance for the same. • Forms crisis management teams for responding to emergencies. • Plans for any VIP arrivals or large functions in terms of placement of manpower and equipment. • Condcuts random checking to esnure the user IDs and passwords are not misused and the same is deleted for any staff that has moved out of the hotel. • Partner with Human Resources to develop departmental workforce plans, hiring schedule, interview and select candidates that demonstrate the TATA and IHCL values along with core functional expertise. Assign buddies to new team members and monitor the progress of departmental induction • Sets department and sub-department goals which is in line with the hotel and department strategies. Communicate goals, conduct Q-Chats (quarterly performance reviews), analyse performance and provide relevant input for training programs • Identifies the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills. • Approves the department duty rosters and leave applications as prepared by Assistant Security Manager. • Identifies risks and develops HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment). • Adheres to roles and responsibilities pertaining to safety as defined by the hotel from time to time as per the PCM (Progressive Consequence Management) SOP and IMBC (Incident Management and Business Continuity).
