Senior Engineer, Defence Sales

Role: To generate and grow sales of high-quality fabricated assemblies and welded structures for defence applications. This is a sales role focused on order booking and revenue growth that include business development strategy, proposal management, tendering and bidding Product Scope (Include but not limited to): • Welded and fabricated structures • Mild steel, stainless steel & aluminium fabrications • Armoured enclosures, chassis, housings, frames, cabinets • Precision fabricated sub-systems for defence & aerospace • Ground handling equipments, canisters, launchers, rocket motors. • ISO 3834 / ISO 9001 (Welding & Fabrication Quality) Key Responsibilities: • Identify & win orders from: • DRDO labs & establishments • DPSUs (BEL, BHL, BEML, BDL, HAL, MIDHANI, OFB, etc.) • Armed forces procurement units • Tier-1 private defense OEMs (L&T, Tata, Adani, Kalyani, etc.) • Handle RFQs, commercial offers, technical clarifications, and commercial negotiations. • Navigate defense procurement, tendering & e-procurement platforms. • Build and maintain active visit plans, opportunity pipelines & revenue forecasts. • Coordinate internally for: • Technical understanding of specs/drawings • Costing & estimation • Production lead times & delivery commitments • Ensure order closure, commercial compliance, and payment realisation. • Participate in defence vendor meets, exhibitions, and technology events. Preferred candidate profile: • Proven experience in defence sales of fabricated or engineered products. • Must be a closercapable of securing orders from institutional & PSU buyers. • Relationship-strong with procurement, commercial and technical decision makers. • Self-driven, field-oriented, and target-accountable. • Strong documentation, compliance and negotiation discipline. • Candidate should preferably be familiar with: Fabrication + welding processes (TIG/MIG/SMAW) ISO 3834 / ISO 9001 quality frameworks WPS/PQR, NDT, visual inspection basics Blasting, painting & finishing standards Sheet metal & heavy fabrication cost drivers Reading engineering drawings & tolerance callouts
