Role Overview
The Sales Manager / Business Development Manager is responsible for executing Thinko’s institutional sales strategy at the ground level. The role focuses on school acquisition, relationship management, and revenue generation within assigned territories or accounts. Reporting directly to the Head of Sales, this role plays a key part in achieving school onboarding, revenue, and renewal targets through disciplined sales execution and close coordination with internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
A. Institutional Sales & Business Development
● Identify, approach, and onboard public and private schools within assigned territories
● Conduct school meetings, demos, presentations, and proposal discussions Thinko Learning Private Limited Lalitpur, Nepal
● Build strong relationships with: ○ School owners ○ Principals ○ Academic coordinators ○ Institutional decision-makers
● Support negotiations and close school partnership agreements as per approved pricing and policies
B. Sales Execution & Target Achievement
● Execute monthly and quarterly sales targets assigned by the Head of Sales
● Maintain a healthy and active sales pipeline
● Convert leads into demos and closures with strong follow-up discipline
● Support renewal and upsell opportunities in existing partner schools
C. Pipeline Management & Reporting
● Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and closures
● Update CRM and internal tracking systems regularly
● Share: ○ Weekly activity and pipeline updates ○ Monthly target vs achievement reports
● Escalate risks, delays, or objections proactively to the Head of Sales
D. Cross-Functional Coordination
● Coordinate with implementation, training, and academic teams for smooth school onboarding
● Support handover from sales to execution teams
● Ensure school expectations are clearly communicated and managed
E. Market Feedback & Relationship Management
● Act as a key point of contact for assigned schools during the sales and early implementation phase Thinko Learning Private Limited Lalitpur, Nepal
● Gather market feedback, objections, and competitor insights
● Share on-ground insights with the Head of Sales to support strategy refinement
4. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
● Number of schools onboarded
● Revenue generated from assigned accounts/territories
● Lead-to-closure conversion ratio
● Timeliness and quality of reporting
● Support to renewals and long-term relationship quality
5. Required Qualifications & Experience Essential Requirements
● Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Marketing, or a related field
● 1-3 years of experience in: ○ Institutional sales ○ B2B sales ○ Business development
● Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
● Willingness to engage in field-based sales and school visits Preferred Experience
● Experience working with schools, colleges, or education-related organizations
● Exposure to EdTech, education services, or subscription-based products
● Familiarity with local school networks or associations
