MERN Full Stack Architect – Banking Domain (Tamil Nadu)

Others are kindly requested not to apply. About the Role We are looking for a Principal Full Stack Architect to lead the design and evolution of large-scale, mission-critical banking platforms. This role is responsible for end-to-end architecture ownership across digital channels, microservices, service orchestration, and identity platforms, with a strong focus on customer onboarding, compliance-driven workflows, and secure identity services. The ideal candidate will act as a technical authority and architectural decision-maker , balancing business requirements, regulatory constraints, scalability, and security while guiding multiple engineering teams. Key Responsibilities Architecture & Platform Ownership - Define and own the end-to-end architecture for digital banking platforms, covering frontend, backend, integration, orchestration, and identity layers. - Establish architectural standards, reference architectures, and design patterns for microservices, APIs, and event-driven systems. - Drive architectural decisions around scalability, resiliency, fault tolerance, performance, and security in a regulated banking environment. - Review and approve solution designs, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and regulatory requirements. Digital Onboarding & Banking Workflows - Architect digital customer onboarding platforms for retail and corporate banking, including: o KYC / AML verification o Document management and validation o Account opening and lifecycle workflows - Design service orchestration frameworks to coordinate complex, multi-step banking processes (e.g., onboarding, loan origination, compliance screening). - Define orchestration vs. choreography strategies using Camunda BPM and event-driven patterns. Identity & Security Architecture - Lead the architecture of identity and access management (IAM) platforms, including: o Authentication, authorization, RBAC, MFA o eKYC / Video KYC integrations o OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML-based federated identity - Ensure secure integration with enterprise identity providers (Active Directory, Okta, Ping Identity). - Drive compliance with banking security standards, data protection regulations, and privacy requirements. API & Integration Architecture • Define enterprise API strategies using Kong API Gateway , including: o API lifecycle management o Security, throttling, and governance o External partner and internal service integrations • Architect real-time and asynchronous integrations using Apache Kafka and messaging patterns. Technical Leadership & Governance • Act as a technical mentor and architectural coach for senior developers and tech leads. • Lead architectural reviews, design forums, and technology evaluations. • Collaborate closely with product owners, compliance teams, and business stakeholders to translate regulatory and business requirements into robust technical architectures. • Provide oversight and guidance on CI/CD, DevOps practices, and cloud-native deployments. Required Skills & Qualifications • 10–12 years of overall experience, with 3+ years in banking or financial services architecture. • Proven experience in architecting large-scale banking platforms using microservices and cloud-native patterns. • Strong architectural understanding of React.js-based frontend ecosystems . • Deep expertise in Node.js microservices architectures (Express.js / NestJS). • Hands-on architectural experience with Kong API Gateway . • Strong experience designing event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka. • Solid experience with Camunda BPM and BPMN-based workflow orchestration. • Strong domain knowledge of banking systems , including payments, KYC/AML, lending, and compliance workflows. • Proven experience designing digital onboarding and identity platforms . • Robust knowledge of IAM architecture , SSO, MFA, and federated identity. • Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis at an architectural level. • Strong understanding of Docker, Kubernetes , and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP ). Nice to Have • Experience defining enterprise architecture standards or platform roadmaps. • Knowledge of GraphQL or gRPC for internal service communication. • Experience with observability and monitoring architecture (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk). • Robust understanding of PCI-DSS, data residency, and privacy regulations. • Experience with biometric authentication and liveness detection. • Familiarity with BPMN 2.0 and workflow governance models. • Prior experience working with regulators, audits, or compliance-driven delivery.
