Role Overview • We are seeking a visionary and commercially driven Design & Trend Strategist – Kidswear to lead the creative direction and trend strategy for our baby and kidswear category. • This role combines trend forecasting, consumer insight analysis, and product design leadership to build high-performing, trend-forward collections aligned with brand positioning and business objectives. • The ideal candidate will have strong experience in kidswear design and the ability to translate global trends and customer data into commercially successful product ranges. Key Responsibilities Trend Strategy & Research • Conduct in-depth research on global and domestic kidswear trends (colors, silhouettes, fabrics, prints, graphics, trims). • Analyze competitor brands, market gaps, and customer buying behavior. • Develop seasonal trend decks and concept presentations aligned with brand identity. • Identify emerging trends and translate them into commercially viable designs. Collection Planning & Development • Develop seasonal range architecture including core, fashion, and capsule collections. • Define color palettes, print stories, fabric direction, and style count planning. • Ensure collections meet target price points, margin structures, and category performance goals. • Create detailed tech packs including measurements, construction details, trims, labeling, and artworks. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Collaborate with merchandising, sourcing, marketing, and production teams for seamless execution. • Coordinate with vendors for sampling, costing, fit approvals, and bulk production readiness. • Review samples and provide structured technical feedback. • Support marketing teams with design narratives and campaign inputs. Performance Monitoring & Optimization • Monitor sell-through data, customer reviews, and return reasons to refine future collections. • Improve product offerings based on performance insights and customer feedback. • Maintain seasonal design calendars and ensure timely launches. Required Skills & Competencies • Minimum 5 years of experience in kidswear or baby apparel design. • Strong expertise in trend forecasting and range planning. • Good understanding of D2C, retail, or e-commerce business models. • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. • Strong knowledge of garment construction and tech pack development. • Understanding of fabrics, trims, embellishments, and baby-safe standards. • Commercial awareness with strong analytical skills. • Excellent communication and vendor management abilities. • Ability to manage multiple collections within tight timelines. Preferred Skills • Experience leading a small design team. • Exposure to sustainable fabrics and ethical sourcing practices. • Knowledge of CLO 3D or similar 3D visualization software. • Experience working with online-first or D2C brands. Job Type: Full-time Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per month Work Location: In person
