Job Description POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Research Scientist is responsible for keeping abreast with technology & market trends. The position mandates inventing, designing new models, approaches & opportunities in using some of these trends in markets including, Travel, Transportation, Banking, Capital markets, Insurance, Healthcare, Manufacturing & Retail. Should possess high social collaboration skills in connecting with various experts & industry leaders in building thought leadership & partner eco-systems. RESPONSIBILITIES • Help & design the structure of innovation projects in line with Business interests. • Set up Innovation Lab project's research activities and collaborate to select methods. • Assist in building a multidisciplinary & versatile team based on available resources. • Draw from existing models or develop new frameworks to direct the solution. • Work on the following areas considered to be primary but not limited; Internet of Things, Consumer technologies, Digital Services, Automation Process, Data driven Insights, Cloud Systems. • Design, participate and facilitate creating a culture of intentional innovation. • Help other researchers synthesize their findings into collective insights. • Frame the collective insights through deliverables like white papers, systems diagrams and customer journey maps. • Prepare touch point analysis & mental models & other things that is fascinating, never heard-of & gives the "WOW" factor. • Help the research team to come up with killer ideas. • Work with team members to drive applied innovation. • Create a research ecosystem with partners, 3rd party vendors, SI and external organizations including startups to arm the organization with a broad catalogue of offerings. • Nourish co-innovation teams and work with accounts & customers to enable connected ideation. • Prototype, evaluate and test research works. • Ensure the research proceedings are always in line with project briefings & aligns to the organization's R&D vision. • Develop research & design frameworks to evaluate all research projects. • Evaluate costs and benefits of research projects. • Provide inputs and recommendations to services / delivery teams on latest technology trends. • Host Innovation Lab presentations on technology trends to peer groups, offering heads & accounts • Prepare for Hexaware's Innovation showcase that happens every quarter. • Conduct webinars & participate in research conferences, technology summit & other related forums. • Publish research papers in journals & research forums. • Brand & represent Hexaware's research capability in the research market. • Constant networking with peers in R&D arena • Need to be the inspirational flash of creativity for fellow researchers. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS • Masters in Computer Science / Ph.D. in Information Systems / any other related degree • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in IT or Business Systems • Minimum of 3 years of research experience on IT services / Enterprise Solutions • High level of understanding on various technology front like Business Intelligence Reporting, Cloud Architecture, Ubiquitous computing, Artificial Intelligence systems • Understand the language of Business domain consultants on various Line of businesses. • Experience on working with dynamic research teams & Innovation labs • Holding patents / assisted in patent creations will be a huge advantage • Experience & submission of White papers / Research articles in technical forums. • Fair share of networking with industry peers & external research groups • Active contributor & information publisher on social media pertaining to research topics aforementioned. • Speaker at various technology forums / conferences / Bootcamps • Skills to connect with thought leaders & hold visible connections with fellow researchers (external) on LinkedIn and other social networking sites. • Member of various acclaimed research forums & participation experience / connection with research institutes would be an added advantage Qualifications • Masters in Computer Science / Ph.D. in Information Systems / any other related degree
