Designation: Staff Nurse Location : VG Hospital, Coimbatore (Mettupalayam road, Thudiyalur) Education: B.sc Nursing/ GNM/Dip or B.sc Accident & Emergency Care Technician/Dip or B.sc Critical Care Technology Experience: Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience is required freshers also can apply Job responsibilities: Clinical Care & Assessment • Perform rapid triage and prioritize patients based on acuity • Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments (vital signs, pain level, mental status) • Identify life-threatening conditions and initiate emergency interventions • Monitor patients continuously and recognize changes in condition Emergency Interventions • Administer medications safely (IV, IM, oral, emergency drugs) • Start and maintain IV lines, fluids, and blood transfusions • Assist with emergency procedures (intubation, CPR, wound suturing, chest tube insertion) • Perform wound care, splinting, catheterization, and other bedside procedures • Operate and monitor emergency equipment (defibrillators, monitors, ventilators) Patient Safety & Infection Control • Maintain strict infection prevention and control practices • Ensure accurate patient identification and medication safety • Follow emergency protocols and hospital policies • Advocate for patient safety and comfort in high-stress situations Documentation & Communication • Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses • Communicate effectively with physicians, paramedics, and multidisciplinary teams • Provide clear handovers during shift changes or patient transfers • Coordinate admissions, discharges, or transfers to other units Patient & Family Support • Educate patients and families about procedures, treatments, and discharge instructions • Provide emotional support to patients and relatives during emergencies or trauma • Assist with crisis intervention and end-of-life care when needed Collaboration & Teamwork • Work closely with doctors, technicians, and support staff in fast-paced environments • Participate in trauma calls, disaster responses, and code situations • Support junior staff, students, or new team members Professional Responsibilities • Maintain licensure and attend mandatory trainings (BLS, ACLS, PALS, etc.) • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives • Uphold ethical standards and patient confidentiality • Manage workload efficiently in high-pressure situations Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month Work Location: In person
