Role: GIS Database Administrator About The Opportunity A specialist operation in the Geospatial Technology & GIS Services sector, supporting mapping, utilities, infrastructure and remote?sensing projects across India. We design, deploy and maintain enterprise geospatial data platforms that serve analytics, asset management and field operations for public- and private-sector customers. Seeking an on-site GIS Database Administrator to manage and optimize our core spatial databases and enable reliable data delivery to GIS analysts and applications. Role & Responsibilities • Administer enterprise geodatabases: install, configure and maintain ArcGIS Enterprise geodatabases and spatial databases (PostGIS/ArcSDE). • Perform database maintenance: backup & restore, replication, migrations, spatial index creation and performance tuning for large spatial datasets. • Develop and maintain ETL and automation scripts using Python, GDAL/OGR or FME to ingest, validate and publish geospatial data. • Implement security, access control and data governance policies for GIS data, including permissions, audits and disaster?recovery plans. • Monitor database health and troubleshoot incidents across Linux/Windows server environments; produce runbooks and automation for routine operations. • Collaborate with GIS developers, analysts and infrastructure teams to support deployments, schema design, versioning and production releases. Skills & Qualifications Must-Have • PostgreSQL • PostGIS • ArcGIS Enterprise • ArcSDE • SQL • Python Preferred • GDAL/OGR • Oracle Spatial • FME Additional Qualifications (summary) • Proven experience administering enterprise spatial databases and performing performance tuning, backup/restore and replication for large geospatial datasets. • Hands-on experience with Linux and Windows server environments and automating operational tasks via scripting and CI/CD where applicable. • Strong understanding of spatial indexing, coordinate reference systems, data versioning and GIS data quality checks.
