About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled CMM Application Engineer with experience in developing custom applications for Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and metrology solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in CMM programming and automation, with hands-on experience using PC-DMIS, PolyWorks. This role requires a strong problem-solver who can optimize measurement processes, develop tailored solutions, and support clients in achieving precision and efficiency in their quality control operations Key Responsibilities Programming & Inspection • Build offline/online PC-DMIS programs from CAD (STEP/IGES); apply datum strategies, best-fit/iterative alignments, probe build/qualification, safe paths, and cycle-time optimization. • Execute FAI/PPAP/ISIR and produce clear reports; compile basic SPC (Cp/Cpk, MSA/Gage R&R). Calibration & Service Support • Perform routine CMM calibration/verification ; run artifact checks (spheres, step/ring/plug gauges), manage environmental factors, and document CAPA. • Support installation/repair/commissioning of CMMs. Customer Enablement & Training • Deliver operator training (software & hardware), on-site troubleshooting, and technical support. • Partner with quality/manufacturing to resolve measurement issues and improve fixtures/datum schemes. Quality & Governance • Maintain version control for programs, WI/SOPs, and calibration records; ensure audit readiness and drive continuous improvement. Skills & Qualifications • 3–7 years in CMM/PC-DMIS programming with shop-floor prove-outs • PC-DMIS programming (offline & online) from CAD (STEP/IGES); datum strategies, best-fit/iterative alignments • Probe builds & qualification, safe path planning, cycle-time optimization • GD&T proficiency (ASME Y14.5/ISO): feature controls, datum schemes, tolerance stacks • Reporting & SPC: FAI/PPAP/ISIR, Cp/Cpk, MSA/Gage R&R basics • CMM calibration/verification exposure (ISO 10360 awareness), artifact handling (spheres, step/ring/plug gauges) • Troubleshooting: program logic, probe/head errors, communication & hardware issues • Documentation discipline: version control of programs, WI/SOPs, calibration records • Customer interaction: shop-floor prove-outs, operator training, clear verbal/written communication How to Apply: Submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your experience at info@xellr.com.
