Role Title: Consultant Cardiologist (Clinical Practitioner)
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant Cardiologist to join our Department of Cardiology. This role is primarily that of a Clinical Practitioner focused on patient care and procedural excellence. While the facility is a teaching hospital, a prior academic profile or teaching experience is not mandatory. The successful candidate will diagnose, treat, and manage patients with cardiovascular diseases, utilising the hospital's advanced infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Care: Provide high-quality clinical care to outpatients and inpatients with various cardiovascular conditions.
- Procedures: Perform and interpret diagnostic and interventional cardiological procedures utilising the Cardiac Cath Lab and non-invasive labs (Echocardiography, TMT, Holter, etc.).
- Emergency Management: Manage cardiac emergencies, including acute coronary syndromes and heart failure, in the Emergency Department and CCU/ICU settings.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of specialists, nurses, and technicians to ensure comprehensive patient management.
- Patient Counselling: Educate patients and their families regarding their condition, treatment plans, and preventive cardiology measures.
- Quality Assurance: Adhere to NABH standards and clinical protocols to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Education: MCh Cardiology or MCh CTVS or DM Cardiology or DrNB Cardiology or DNB-SS Cardiology.
- Licensure: The degree must be recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
- Registration: Valid state or national medical council registration.
Experience & Criteria
- Experience Range: 0 to 4 years of experience after the completion of super specialisation (DM/DNB-SS).
- Setting Preference: Crucially, priority will be given to candidates whose relevant work experience was gained in recognised university or medical college hospital settings.
- Academic Profile: While experience in a teaching hospital is prioritised for the clinical exposure it provides, a formal academic profile (teaching designation/research track record) is not mandatory.
Technical & Subject-Specific Expertise
- Proficiency in clinical cardiology and non-invasive diagnostic techniques (2D/3D Echo, Doppler, Stress Testing).
- Competence in invasive cardiac procedures appropriate for the level of experience.
- Familiarity with modern critical care monitoring and life support equipment (e.g., IABP, temporary pacemakers).
- Ability to interpret complex cardiac imaging (64-slice CT Angio, MRI) is desirable.
Compensation
- Salary Range: INR 3.5 Lakhs to INR 8 Lakhs per month.
- Basis: Remuneration is determined based on the number of years of relevant experience (0-4 years) post-super specialisation.

- Services: 24x7 coverage availability as per departmental roster for emergencies
