Role Overview

The Electrical Panel Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating electrical control panels for industrial automation, power distribution, and motor control applications. This role requires strong technical expertise in electrical design, compliance with IEC/IS standards, and the ability to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design electrical control panels, MCCs, PCCs, and automation panels as per client requirements and industry standards.
  • Prepare detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and GA drawings using CAD software.
  • Select appropriate components (circuit breakers, relays, contactors, PLCs, controllers, drives, etc.) based on technical specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with IEC/IS standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with production teams to support panel assembly, wiring, and testing.
  • Conduct design validation, load calculations, and fault level analysis.
  • Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials) and technical documentation for projects.
  • Coordinate with clients, OEMs, and vendors for technical clarifications.
  • Support R&D initiatives for new product development and process improvements.
  • Provide technical training and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • 2–5 years of experience in electrical panel design (preferably in manufacturing/industrial automation).
  • Proficiency in CAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar design tools.
  • Strong knowledge of IEC/IS standards, electrical safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation controllers (PLC, HMI, VFD, TM241/TM251).
  • Ability to perform load calculations, short-circuit analysis, and protection coordination.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in electrical panel board manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of advanced power electronics and motor control systems.
  • Exposure to ISO/IEC audits and quality management systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
