Job Summary:
The Laser Cutting Drawing Design Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate and production ready drawings for laser cutting operations. The role involves converting design requirements into detailed 2D/3D drawings, nesting layouts, and coordinating with production and quality teams to ensure efficient and error-free manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare laser cutting drawings as per customer specifications, project requirements, and manufacturing standards.
- Convert hand sketches, CAD models, or technical inputs into detailed cutting drawings.
- Create nesting layouts to optimize material usage and reduce scrap.
- Ensure all drawings are accurate, dimensionally correct, and suitable for production.
- Coordinate with the production team to resolve drawing or fabrication issues.
- Maintain drawing records, revisions, and documentation as per company standards.
- Review and check drawings before releasing them to the shop floor.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and tolerances.
- Support the estimation team with drawing-related inputs, if required.
- Work closely with the sales, project, and quality teams for design modifications.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
- Knowledge of laser cutting processes and sheet metal fabrication.
- Understanding of materials, tolerances, and manufacturing techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Problem-solving and time-management abilities.
Educational Qualification:
- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience:
- 1 to 4 years of experience in laser cutting, sheet metal design, or fabrication drawings.
