About Role:

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Gold Tech team and help design and implement highly scalable services powering Paytm Digital Gold. We are building reliable, high-availability financial products and need a senior engineer who can own modules end-to-end, raise the bar on code quality, and mentor junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build high-availability, fault-tolerant transactional systems for money-path flows.
• Deliver reliable solutions that handle massive data volumes, peak traffic, and strict latency/SLA requirements.
• Own problem-free execution of assigned modules — from design and implementation through production support.
• Drive code optimization, code quality, maintainability, test coverage, and observability (metrics, logging, alerting).
• Integrate with internal platforms and external bullion partners.
• Work with Kafka consumers/producers, schedulers, and stream processing topologies where applicable.
• Participate in code reviews, incident post-mortems, and on-call rotation for owned services.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical standards within the team.

Skills Required:

• MS or BS/B.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent experience from a top college.
• 3–6 years of hands-on backend development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in Core Java (collections, multithreading, concurrency) or Node.js with production-grade services.
• Proficiency in Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate (Java track) or Express.js, async patterns (Node track); comfort working across both is a plus.
• Strong working knowledge of MySQL (master/slave, query optimization) and at least one of Redis, Aerospike, Cassandra, or Elasticsearch.
• Experience with Kafka (producers/consumers, idempotency, retry/DLQ patterns) and/or Apache Storm or similar stream processing.
• Experience building REST APIs, handling distributed transactions, and designing for idempotency and eventual consistency.
• Solid data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving skills.
• Customer-focused, adapts well to change, collaborates across teams (Product, QA, SRE, Partner integrations).
• Proven performer in a high-energy, fast-paced environment; self-starter with minimal guidance.

Good to Have:

• Experience in fintech, payments, or bullion/wealth domains.
• Familiarity with Quartz, Spring State Machine, Resilience4j, or Debezium CDC.
• Exposure to AWS, Datadog/Prometheus, CI/CD (Jenkins), and contract/integration testing.
• Experience migrating or maintaining legacy Node.js services alongside modern Java microservices.
