Job Title: Regional Sales Manager (Pharma)
Job Summary:
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and driving sales performance within an assigned geographic region in the pharmaceutical sector. The role involves achieving sales targets, managing a team of Medical Representatives, building strong relationships with healthcare professionals, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Business Development
- Achieve regional sales targets and growth objectives.
- Develop and implement regional sales strategies aligned with company goals.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand product penetration.
- Team Management
- Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise Medical Representatives.
- Set individual sales targets and KPIs.
- Conduct regular field visits and performance reviews.
- Motivate and guide the team to maximize productivity.
- Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with doctors, pharmacists, hospitals, and distributors.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service.
- Organize and participate in CME programs, product launches, and promotional activities.
- Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure adherence to pharma marketing codes and regulatory guidelines.
- Prepare and submit sales reports, forecasts, and market intelligence.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain teams.
- Budget & Territory Management
- Manage regional promotional budgets effectively.
- Optimize territory coverage and distribution networks.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Sales revenue achievement (% of target)
- Market share growth
- Territory expansion
- Team productivity and retention
- Customer coverage and call average
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or related field.
- MBA (Marketing) preferred.
Experience:
- 5–10 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales.
- Minimum 2–3 years in a team handling/managerial role.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strategic planning and analytical ability
- Knowledge of pharma regulations and compliance
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools
