Job Title: - Sales and Marketing Head

  • This is 6 days’ work from office role (Saturdays 1/2 days)
  • Office Location- BKC, Mumbai
  • Experience: 5 - 10 Years
  • Compensation (Yearly): INR(₹) 4,000,000 to 5,000,000
  • Position reports to - Founder of the company
  • Relocation is open for this role
  • Interview mode- F2F for Local Mumbai candidates else virtual
  • Interview rounds- 3 - 4 rounds in the process
  • Notice Period: Max. 30 - 45 days
  • Relocation allowances will be covered within the CTC only (no extra allowances)

Mandatory Requirements: -

  • Experience working in startups or early-stage companies
  • Strong track record in new product launches and category management
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in nutraceuticals, OTC, wellness, pharma-related, or beauty & health categories
  • At least 5 years of experience in D2C marketing, digital growth, and offline sales growth

About the Company: It is a tech-first generic pharma startup focused on scaling distribution rapidly, leveraging data for decision-making, and building a strong on-ground sales team. Unlike traditional pharma companies, we prioritize efficient supply chain execution and real-time sales insights over doctor-driven marketing.

Role Purpose: - We are launching its Nutraceuticals division with a strong D2C and online-first strategy. We are looking for a dynamic Sales & Marketing Lead who will be the first hire for this new business vertical. This leader will play a pivotal role in building the category roadmap, launching products, building D2C presence, setting up marketing engines, and integrating with our existing trade channels. This is a high-ownership role suited for someone who thrives in startup environments, can build from zero, and drive aggressive growth in the nutrition & wellness category.

Key Responsibilities: -

Strategy & Business Leadership

  • Develop the complete business roadmap for the nutraceuticals division: portfolio, channels, pricing, marketing, and revenue plan.
  • Identify consumer insights, competitive landscape, market size, and category opportunities across gut health, skin care, women’s health, men’s health, cognitive health, vitamins & minerals, and muscle recovery.
  • Define go-to-market (GTM) strategy for D2C and the trade channel.

Product Launch & Category Management

  • Work closely with R&D/third-party manufacturers to launch products aligned to category growth areas.
  • Own packaging development, claims, content, and compliance.
  • Manage product lifecycle planning & New product development pipeline
  • Define pricing, margins, and channel P&L.

D2C & Online Growth

  • Lead launch of D2C website including UI/UX, content, and funnel optimization.
  • Build and manage performance marketing: Meta Ads, Google Ads, Amazon Ads, influencer campaigns, affiliate marketing, and CRM.
  • Create a strong brand identity and narrative for the nutraceutical line.
  • Drive conversion funnel optimization, CAC reduction, AOV improvement, retention strategy, and subscription models.
  • Oversee e-commerce marketplace partnership: Amazon, Flipkart, Nykaa, 1mg, PharmEasy, etc.
  • Build processes for customer service, reviews, ORM, and logistics.

Marketing & Brand Building

  • Own the brand P&L and marketing budget.
  • Develop 360° campaigns, including digital, content, influencer, and community-driven campaigns.
  • Build relationships with wellness influencers, creators, doctors, and nutritionists.
  • Drive consumer education strategy

Trade Channel Integration

  • Work with existing stockists, distributors, and chemists to introduce the nutraceutical range.
  • Set trade pricing, margins, launch schemes, and channel marketing activities.
  • Support the pharma trade sales team with product training, collateral, and brand positioning.
  • Create visibility through in-store branding, POP/POS, promotion kits, etc.

Team Building & Collaboration

  • Initially operate as an individual contributor; gradually build a team across digital marketing, design, content, marketplace management, and trade marketing.
  • Collaborate deeply with internal teams for end-to-end execution.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 5 + years’ experience in nutraceuticals, OTC, wellness, pharma-adjacent or beauty & health category.
  • Hands-on experience in D2C marketing and digital growth.
  • Experience in launching or managing nutraceutical/health supplements.
  • Strong knowledge of performance marketing, analytics, and funnel metrics.
  • Exposure to both D2C and trade/retail channels.
  • Experience in startup or early-stage business environments (Mandatory)

  • Strong communication, branding, and storytelling ability.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: ability scale from zero.
  • Ability to partner cross-functional teams and external agencies.
