Siemens EDM (Engineering Data Management) Administration involves managing the Xpedition EDM tool suite to secure, organize, and control PCB design data, libraries, and user access.
Core Responsibilities
Key EDM Administration Responsibilities
- System Configuration: Installing and maintaining the EDM Server, supporting database (Oracle), and web server, including scheduling automatic cache cleanup.
- User & Role Management: Assigning user access, roles, and permissions (e.g., librarian, designer) via the Siemens Accelerator Admin Console.
- Data Management: Managing PCB design data, library, components, and project-specific access control.
- Security & Compliance: Monitoring audit logs, managing security settings for file uploads, and ensuring data integrity.
- Server Maintenance: Reindexing the database, collecting log files, and managing server performance.
