Technical Writer - Engineering

As a Technical Writer III, your role involves creating, developing, writing, editing, and publishing technical documentation for associated products or processes while ensuring project deadlines are met. Your responsibilities include:

  • Researching, writing, and editing technical documentation such as owners manuals, installation manuals, service manuals, and bulletins for all product lines.
  • Developing and publishing technical and parts manuals in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Creating deadline-driven documentation that meets style guide requirements and user expectations.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional team members to gather product information and translate it into accessible, user-friendly documentation.
  • Editing current publications by gathering information from other company publications.
  • Working closely with the corporate New Product Introduction team to ensure all relevant technical publications are available for the product at launch.
  • Participating in the design process with engineers and service to create technical documentation from the customer perspective.
  • Creating or modifying Style Sheets for technical document types.
  • Providing mentorship and training to the technical writer I & II.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Bachelors degree in Technical Communications or related field, or equivalent experience.

In terms of work experience, you should have:

  • 5 years of technical writing or related experience.
  • 3 years of experience working with industrial or similar products.
  • Previous experience using Arbortext Styler.

Key Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of XML coding.
  • Proficiency in Arbortext, Adobe Suite, Framemaker, and related programs.
  • Strong writing, editing, communication, and organizational skills.
