Temp Accountant (Short Term)

A growing organization is seeking an experienced accounting professional to provide hands-on support across core accounting functions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently in a fully remote environment and can step in to support year-end activities, ensure financial accuracy, and assist with payroll reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts
• Prepare journal entries, account analyses, and reconciliations
• Assist with monthly and year-end close processes
• Review and organize accounting data to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Reconcile payroll and related accounts
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintain documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury functions
• Support internal audit activities
• Contribute to annual operating budget preparation and financial projections
• Respond to financial information requests and assist with audits
• Ensure compliance with GAAP standards
• Support the Accounting Manager with ad hoc financial tasks as needed
• Meet established processing and reporting deadlines

Required Qualifications

• 4–5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• Experience supporting month-end and year-end close processes
• Strong analytical, numeracy, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to manage time effectively in a remote work environment
• Must pass a background check

$20 - $28 an hour
