The Opportunity

Changing the world through digital experiences is what Adobe's all about. We give everyone—from emerging artists to global brands—everything they need to design and deliver exceptional digital experiences. We're passionate about empowering people to craft beautiful and powerful images, videos, and apps, and transform how companies interact with customers across every screen. We believe that a modern design tool should be lightweight and easy to use, with low friction and amazing performance. We are reimagining the creative process powered through a highly collaborative experience that works seamlessly across multiple surfaces. We favor excellence over shortcuts, and quality over scope as we build products for the next decade and beyond. As an engineer on this team you would be designing and building tools and features for designers, pushing the technology boundaries of what is possible on the web. If you're looking to be part of a team that is building the data systems and services that power the web, welcome to Creative Cloud.

What you'll do

  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines on Azure Databricks using Apache Spark and Python, covering both batch and real-time workloads.
  • Write and optimize SQL for data transformation, aggregation, and analytics workloads.
  • Help develop and maintain analytics-ready data models (fact tables, dimensions, rollups, metric layers, and gold layer tables) used for dashboards and reporting.
  • Support performance, reliability, and cost efficiency of Databricks workloads, including tuning Spark jobs and Delta Lake tables, and applying good practices like incremental/idempotent processing, MERGE patterns, and partitioning.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders—including product managers, data scientists, business analysts, and engineers—to build solutions that enable reliable, self-serve analytics.
  • Implement data quality checks, validation, and monitoring to help ensure accurate and trusted analytics metrics.
  • Follow and contribute to data engineering best practices, including version control and documentation.
  • Design and develop new features and tools in collaboration with other engineers, product managers, designers, and user researchers.
  • Contribute to solutions that integrate structured and unstructured data, including selective use of GenAI/LLM-based capabilities where relevant.
  • Grow with the support of your team, and support your teammates in turn by sharing feedback and pitching in where you can.
  • Be part of building an inclusive team that welcomes diverse opinions.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their workflows and needs, and adapt quickly based on their feedback.
  • Be part of a team that works like a startup inside Adobe, giving you the best of both worlds.

What you need to succeed

  • Based in Bangalore.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science.
  • 1+ years of software development experience.
  • Strong CS fundamentals with hands-on experience in Python; working knowledge of Node.js and REST APIs.
  • Some experience with, or strong interest in, data pipelines and data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Spark, Kafka, or similar).
  • Foundational understanding of data modelling and data warehousing, ideally with some hands-on exposure to relational and columnar databases.
  • Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts, including curiosity about integrating ML/LLM models into data systems.
  • Familiarity with observability tools like Grafana, Splunk, or Prometheus is a plus.
  • Exposure to container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Some familiarity with AWS or Azure cloud services and basic cloud security concepts.
  • A genuine interest in learning new technologies quickly.
  • A thoughtful approach to problem-solving, with a drive to improve processes and keep learning.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; able to articulate ideas clearly and collaborate effectively.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience developing for multiple devices and platforms.
  • Experience with Agile development processes.
  • Some hands-on experience with prompting or building data pipelines for LLM workflows.
  • A good sense of humour!
