Mock interview practice: FAQs

How does the mock interview practice work?

Pick a role and step through its most-asked interview questions one at a time, with an optional timer of 60 seconds, 90 seconds or 2 minutes per answer. Answer out loud, note your key points, and open the answer guidance for each question. It runs on the page and needs no account.

Is the mock interview practice free?

Yes. The role pages and their timed practice are free and need no signup. With a free OnJob account you can also take timed role tests with coding problems and free certification tests. Personalised AI role and skill tests are part of the paid plans.

Which roles can I practise interviews for?

OnJob has interview question banks with timed practice for 144 roles, including Software Engineer, Frontend Developer, Backend Developer, Full Stack Developer, Data Analyst, Data Scientist and more — each with the most-asked real questions, all interview rounds, and a tailored prep plan.

Do these interview questions reflect real interviews?

Yes. Every role page lists the questions candidates are most commonly asked in real interviews across India — core fundamentals, role-specific deep-dives, and behavioural questions — not generic filler.

How does practising help me get hired faster?

Rehearsing the questions your role is actually asked, out loud and against a timer, makes your answers shorter and clearer. When you want a scored result, take a timed role test or a certification, then apply to live jobs on OnJob.

Quick answer: how do I prepare for a job interview?

Practise out loud against the questions your specific role is actually asked, not a generic list. Prepare three stories you can adapt to most behavioural questions, and have one concrete number in each. Then rehearse the opening two minutes until it is automatic, because that is the part nerves damage most.

Does practising out loud actually help?

They help with the mechanical half of interviewing: structure, filler words, rambling and time. What they cannot replicate is the judgement of a human interviewer reading the room. Use them to get fluent, then do at least one practice round with a person before an interview that matters.
