Free online certification tests for jobs
OnJob certifications are free, timed tests for a job role or a single skill. Questions come from a fixed pool, the pass mark is 70%, and a pass issues a certificate with its own public page that anyone can check. Certificates also show on your profile and next to your name when recruiters review you on OnJob.

Which role certifications can you take?
Role certifications cover the mix of topics a job usually tests. When the code runner is available, a role test can include one coding problem.
Which skill certifications can you take?
Skill certifications are shorter tests on a single language or tool, at a basic level.
How does a certification test work?
- 01
Pick a certification
Sign in and choose a role or skill certification from your Certifications page.
- 02
Answer against the clock
Questions are drawn at random from a fixed pool and shuffled for each attempt. Role tests can include a coding problem you solve in JavaScript, Python, Java or C++.
- 03
Stay on the test
Leaving the test tab is counted. More than 3 times flags the attempt, and its certificate stays under review until OnJob checks it.
- 04
Get your result
Score 70% or more to pass. If you do not pass, you can retake the same certification after 14 days.
- 05
Share the certificate
A pass issues a certificate valid for 2 years. Add it to LinkedIn, download it as a PDF or share its link.
How can an employer verify an OnJob certificate?
Every certificate has a public page at onjob.io/certificate/ followed by its certificate ID. Nobody needs an account to open it.
- The candidate name, the certification and the date it was issued.
- The date it stays valid until, and whether it is verified, under review, expired or revoked.
- A downloadable PDF copy and a link to add the certificate to a LinkedIn profile.
- Only valid certificates are indexed by search engines. Expired and revoked certificates still open, with their status shown.
What do recruiters see?
- Certificates appear as badges next to the candidate name in applications, talent search and the candidate profile.
- Each badge links to its public certificate page, so a recruiter can check the result in one click.
- Only verified certificates that are still valid show as badges. Expired, revoked and under-review certificates do not.
Certifications: frequently asked questions
Are OnJob certifications free?
Yes. Every certification test is free for candidates with an OnJob account. There is no exam fee and no paid tier for the certificate itself.
What is the pass mark?
The pass mark is 70% for every current certification. Your score is the share of points you earn across the questions in your attempt.
How often can I retake a certification?
After an attempt that does not pass, you can retake the same certification after 14 days. While you hold a valid certificate you cannot sit the same test again.
How long is a certificate valid?
Certificates are valid for 2 years from the date they are issued. After that the public page shows the certificate as expired and you can sit the test again.
Can an employer check that my certificate is real?
Yes. Each certificate has a public page with a unique certificate ID. Anyone with the link can see the result, the issue date and the current status without signing in.
How is this different from a mock test?
Mock tests are practice: you can repeat them, and they help you find weak topics. A certification is a single scored attempt against a fixed pass mark, and a pass issues a certificate that recruiters can see and verify.
