Who is hiring in India
Employers ranked by the number of India-based roles they are advertising right now, crawled from their own careers pages. Below the ranking is the number that matters more: how much of the market a handful of them represent.
Most open India roles
Counts roles advertised publicly. Employers who hire mainly through agencies or referrals are under-represented here regardless of how much they are hiring.
India-first employers
At least 10 open roles, with 70% or more of them in India. These are companies whose centre of gravity is here, not global firms with an India office.

How this is counted
Each listing is crawled from the employer's own careers page or applicant tracking system and counted once. A role is India-based when its resolved country is India, whether or not it is also remote.
Known limitation: employer counts are volatile. One applicant tracking system timing out during a crawl can move the total materially, so we publish current standing counts and deliberately do not report day-over-day changes in the number of employers.

Questions
Which companies are hiring the most in India right now?
Paytm has the most open India roles on OnJob in July 2026 with 216, followed by Citi (208), State Street (206), Micron (203), Deutsche Bank (202). Be aware of what this measures: it counts roles an employer is advertising publicly on its own careers page, so companies that hire mainly through agencies or referrals are under-represented regardless of how much they are actually hiring.
How concentrated is tech hiring in India?
Heavily. The top five employers account for 18% of all open India roles in our feed, and the top twenty for 52%. We track 289 employers with at least one open India role. For a jobseeker the practical implication is that a small number of careers pages cover most of the visible market, and it is worth watching them directly rather than relying on aggregators alone.
What is the difference between an India-first employer and a global one?
We flag an employer as India-first when it has at least 10 open roles and 70% or more of them are in India. That distinction matters: a global company advertising 40 India roles out of 900 worldwide is running an India office, whereas one advertising 200 of its 220 roles in India is an Indian company. Both are worth applying to, but they differ in how decisions get made and where the senior roles sit.
Why do these numbers change between visits?
Because the feed is live, and because employer counts are genuinely volatile. A single applicant tracking system going briefly unreachable during a crawl can move the employer count by a large margin, which is why we publish current standing counts and do not report day-over-day changes in the number of employers. Listing counts are considerably steadier than employer counts.
