The Role

Your role

Bring your specialist knowledge and experience to a company managing 50% of the world’s MIPS and play a critical role in our modernization mission. You’ll be in good company among our global community of experts leading the future of mainframe modernization. Experts who share knowledge openly and collaborate freely.

In this role, you’ll design, build and maintain the high-volume business logic that runs on the mainframe. At the same time you’ll play a key role in refactoring legacy code to enable modern cloud and mobile applications to seamlessly interact with the mainframe’s core data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provision and manage cloud infrastructure resources across Azure, AWS, and/or GCP using approved Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks and reusable Terraform modules.
  • Fulfill infrastructure requests from application and platform teams by deploying cloud resources in accordance with established standards, security policies, and governance controls.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize existing Terraform code, modules, and deployment pipelines.
  • Develop and enhance Terraform modules and IaC assets when new cloud capabilities or infrastructure patterns are required.
  • Collaborate with cloud architects, platform engineers, security teams, and application teams to ensure infrastructure solutions meet business and technical requirements.
  • Implement and support CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments and automation.
  • Monitor infrastructure deployments and resolve provisioning, configuration, and performance issues.
  • Ensure cloud resources are deployed in compliance with security, operational, and cost management best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement of IaC standards and practices.
  • Support cloud platform operations, incident resolution, and root cause analysis related to infrastructure services.
  • Contribute to automation initiatives that improve deployment efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and Terraform capabilities across Azure, AWS, and GCP.

  • Prevent decay and find efficiencies: Monitor the architecture and identify opportunities to optimize code to maintain and enhance mainframe performance.

Debug and Test

  • Find and fix: Debug, troubleshoot, and analyze complex system interactions to keep mission-critical applications running.

Develop for the Future

  • Bridge the gap: As an instrumental player in modernization, you’ll extract business logic from legacy systems for migration or integration with cloud-based services.

Who You Are

Required skills and experience:

  • 7+Hands-on experience with at least two of the following cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, and GCP.
  • Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps.
  • Proficiency with Git-based source control and collaborative development workflows.
  • Understanding of cloud networking, security, IAM, monitoring, and governance concepts.
  • Experience troubleshooting cloud infrastructure and deployment issues.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python is preferred.

Preferred skills and experience :

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering, or DevOps roles
  • Proven track record in large, complex, or regulated enterprise environments
  • Advanced familiarity with: Landing Zones, enterprise foundations, and multi-project architecture
  • Cloud monitoring, logging, observability, and cost optimization practices
  • Relevant certifications: Professional Cloud Architect, Professional DevOps Engineer, Terraform
  • Experience driving Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) or platform engineering initiatives
