The Role

Your role

Bring your specialist knowledge and experience to a company managing 50% of the world’s MIPS and play a critical role in our modernization mission. You’ll be in good company among our global community of experts leading the future of mainframe modernization. Experts who share knowledge openly and collaborate freely.

In this role, you’ll design, build and maintain the high-volume business logic that runs on the mainframe. At the same time you’ll play a key role in refactoring legacy code to enable modern cloud and mobile applications to seamlessly interact with the mainframe’s core data.

Key Responsibilities

• JDE Application Development: Design, build, test, and deploy custom applications, reports, and enhancements using the JDE EnterpriseOne toolset.
• JDE Orchestrator Studio, Business Services (BSSV), and REST/SOAP APIs to seamlessly integrate JD Edwards 9.2 with third-party applications.
• Modify existing JDE objects and create new developments utilizing standard tools like Object Management Workbench (OMW)
• Report Design Aid (RDA), Form Design Aid (FDA), and Table Design Aid (TDA).
• Develop and maintain complex Business Functions (BSFN) using C programming and Named Event Rules (NER)
• Utilize User Defined Objects (UDOs) such as E1 Pages, Grid Formats, CafeOne, Watchlists, and Notifications to enhance the end-user experience.
• Diagnose system failures, perform root cause analysis, debug code, and implement timely fixes for production support tickets.
• Work alongside business analysts to prepare technical specification documents from functional requirements.

Who You Are

Required skills and experience

• Experience working as a software engineer on complex software projects.
• JD Edwards EnterpriseOne / World development experience
• Excellent coding skills and solid development experience with debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Software development methodologies, with demonstrated experience developing scalable and robust software.
• Experienced in relational and NoSQL databases, data mapping, XML/JSON, REST-based web services.
• Knowledge of architecture design - Microservices architecture, containers (Docker & k8s), messaging queues.
• Deep understanding of OOP and design patterns.

Preferred skills and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Certification in one or more of the hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, and Google GCP) - otherwise, you can obtain certifications with Kyndryl.
• Experience with DevOps tools and modern engineering practices.
