Solution Architect – Power Platform Migration (Tenant-to-Tenant)

The Role

The Role:

You will be the Power Platform discipline Solution Architect for a global tenant-to-tenant M365 consolidation, responsible for defining and governing the migration approach for Power Apps, Power Automate, environments, Dataverse usage where applicable, governance controls and remediation patterns.

Power Platform tenant moves are not “lift and shift”. The complexity sits in connections, identity, environment strategy, DLP, ALM, solution packaging, ownership transitions, service principals and post-move remediation. You will design the migration blueprint, set factory runbooks and lead escalations to protect business-critical apps and automations across waves.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define the Power Platform target-state architecture for the consolidated tenant: environment strategy, governance model, ALM approach, security model, connector strategy.
• Define the tenant-to-tenant migration approach: discovery, classification (criticality), packaging strategy (solutions), pre-move remediation, move execution, post-move validation and fix patterns.
• Establish runbooks and gates for: connection reference remediation, ownership transitions, environment settings alignment, DLP policy alignment and managed/unmanaged solution handling.
• Define how the factory identifies and remediates common issues: broken connections, consent issues, connector availability differences, environment variable mismatches, policy blocks.
• Coordinate dependencies with Identity/Entra Apps discipline: for consent/SSO/service principal remediation patterns, app registrations, service principals, API permissions, admin consent, conditional access.
• Define validation and acceptance criteria that are meaningful: functional smoke tests for high-impact apps/flows, business sign-off artefacts, rollback/recovery guidance.
• Govern exceptions and technical debt: what can be deferred, what must be fixed before cutover and what requires business acceptance of risk.
• Drive telemetry/reporting: defect categories, remediation throughput, rework rate, top blockers and continuous improvement backlog.

Who You Are

Must‑Have:

• Proven delivery of tenant-to-tenant Power Platform migration in production (Power Apps + Power Automate) , must be demonstrated.
• Strong Power Platform architecture experience: environments, solutions, governance/DLP, security roles, connector strategy, operational support.
• Experience diagnosing and remediating migration defects at scale (connections, ownership, consent, ALM/solution issues).
• Ability to produce factory-grade runbooks, quality gates, evidence packs and repeatable remediation patterns.
• Strong stakeholder management with app owners and business SMEs; can protect business outcomes without allowing uncontrolled exceptions.

Good‑to‑Have:

• Dataverse experience (security roles, capacity considerations, integration patterns).
• Experience with PP ALM pipelines / DevOps integration.

Interpersonal & Consulting Skills:

• Can lead with clarity: sets standards, explains trade-offs and drives compliance.
• Calm and decisive in cutover windows; can run technical war rooms and close issues fast.
• Strong coaching behaviours: turns recurring problems into standard patterns and templates.
• Communicates risk in business terms; avoids “it depends” without options and recommendations.

Shift / Working Pattern Notes:

• This role operates within a three‑shift 24x7 Factory model. The specific rota will be confirmed, but shift handovers are mandatory and performance is measured on shift outcomes. Peak cutover windows may require schedule flexibility.
