Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive Datacenter Operations Engineer with a strong background in operating systems, command-line management, and mobile/tablet infrastructure. In this role, you will support our Navi Mumbai datacenter and test lab infrastructure, with a primary focus on maintaining Linux , macOS , and mobile device fleets (Android & iOS) deployed in the environment.

Unlike traditional datacenter roles centered on server component replacement, this position heavily emphasizes OS-level troubleshooting, device provisioning, command-line operations, network connectivity, and mobile endpoint lifecycle management. You will work onsite in Navi Mumbai while collaborating closely with global engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Linux, macOS & Mobile Infrastructure Management
  • Deploy, configure, monitor, and maintain local Linux and macOS endpoints, server environments, and test rigs using command-line interface (CLI) utilities.
  • Manage, provision, and troubleshoot onsite mobile hardware fleets (Android smartphones, tablets, iPads, and iOS test platforms).
  • Perform device onboarding, OS flashing/updates, configuration resets, and script-driven automated deployments across mobile and desktop platforms.
  • Diagnose OS-level connectivity, permission, software installation, and performance issues on mobile devices and workstations.
  1. Datacenter Operations & Networking
  • Manage physical rack infrastructure, including cabling (copper/fiber), Wi-Fi Access Points (APs), and Power Distribution Units (PDUs).
  • Perform daily environment inspections, monitoring rack temperatures, power draw, Wi-Fi signal/AP status, and physical port links.
  • Maintain structured inventory and tracking for all endpoint hardware, mobile devices, tablets, test bench rigs, and networking gear using asset tagging systems.
  1. Incident Management & Documentation
  • Track, manage, and resolve Level 2 technical support tickets end-to-end within Jira , ensuring compliance with operational SLAs.
  • Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), system build guides, and infrastructure workflows in Confluence .
  • Collaborate with global, cross-functional engineering teams to escalate platform-level software/network issues and implement fixes.
  1. Secondary / As-Needed Hardware Support
  • Provide occasional, low-frequency assistance with standard rack-mount hardware rack/stack and basic cabling (heavy server component break-fix is minimal for this role).
  • Escort and supervise external vendors for third-party facility, ISP, or hardware maintenance.

Required Qualifications & Skills

A) Core Requirements

  • Communication: Business-level fluency in spoken and written English, with the ability to clearly articulate technical issues, write concise Jira updates, and collaborate seamlessly with global remote teams.
  • Experience: 2–4 years in IT operations, systems administration, or specialized datacenter/lab support roles.
  • Operating Systems & CLI: Strong hands-on proficiency with Linux (Ubuntu/RHEL/Debian) and macOS , with proven ability to navigate systems, troubleshoot issues, and execute tasks efficiently via Command Line Interface (CLI).
  • Mobile Hardware & Management: Demonstrable experience managing and troubleshooting Android and iOS mobile devices/tablets at scale in an enterprise, testing, or lab setting.
  • Networking Basics: Solid understanding of IP networking, TCP/IP, VLANs, Wi-Fi AP placement/troubleshooting, switching, and physical connectivity.
  • Tools & Process: Direct operational experience using Jira for ticket lifecycle tracking and Confluence for technical documentation.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to resolving OS and infrastructure issues.

B) Preferred / "Nice-to-Have" Skills

  • Hands-on scripting experience in Bash , Python , or configuration automation toolsets (e.g., Ansible ) for device/system tasks.
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) software (e.g., Jamf, Workspace ONE, Intune).
  • Familiarity with enterprise productivity suites like Google Workspace .

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • 100% Onsite: Requires daily on-premise presence at the Navi Mumbai facility.
  • Physical Ability: Comfortable working with rack-mounted equipment, mobile testing racks, and routine physical cable routing.

Benefits:

In addition to your total compensation, you will be eligible for following benefits, which will be governed by the Company policy:

  • Medical insurance for self, spouse, upto 2 dependent children and Parents or Parents-in-law up to INR 5,00,000
