We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join Strategy, Governance & Automation (SG&A) India team as an Assistant Vice President Reporting & Analytics (C12),. An Individual Contributor (IC) role based either in Pune/Chennai, India.
The Central Control Capabilities (CCC) function is responsible for driving Monitoring & Testing (M&T) of key controls across the enterprise. It comprises of four groups: (1) Control Assessment, (2) Call Listening, (3) Central Testing, and (4) Strategy, Governance & Automation (SG&A).
The Control Assessment and Central Testing functions partner with the Control Owners and the In-business Control Teams to conduct all the M&T activities for the key controls in scope of the Control Testing. This includes the control design assessment (CDA), the development of tools for operational effectiveness monitoring (OEM) and operational effectiveness testing (OET), the assessment of the design of the OEM & OET tools (MDA & TDA), the execution to the OEM & OET activities, and the disposition of the exceptions identified through the M&T activities.
The Central Testing function is primarily based out of Citi Service Centers (CSC) in India. It is structured along three verticals: (1) M&T Execution, (2) M&T Automation, and (3) Strategy, Governance & Automation India. The Strategy, Governance & Automation (SG&A) India function within the Central Testing organization is responsible for driving the strategy and defining the operating model for the Central Testing function in coordination with the SG&A India for Central Control Capabilities organization. The AVP will report into the SG&A India head and will be responsible for the following key activities:
This role requires a combination of Reporting and analytical skills, leadership abilities to effectively manage data sourcing, analysis, reporting, and integration efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of business intelligence principles and 2/3 years’ hands-on experience working with BI tools like Tableau Creator and Microsoft Power BI.
- Data Integrity & Governance: Establish a "single source of truth" by rigorously cleaning and governing data to guarantee accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Granularity & Accessibility: Store, analyze publishing data at the most detailed level possible, making it seamlessly available to intended users.
- Symmetry: Ensure the reporting structure mirrors actual processes so users can easily contextualize the data.
- User-Centric Design: Build data visualizations and dashboards following natural human cognition—keeping layouts clean, reducing noise, and choosing charts strategically (e.g., bar charts for comparisons, line graphs for trends).
- Iterative Agility: Treat BI as a continuous improvement loop rather than a one-time project, constantly evolving dashboards and metrics as business needs change.
In this role, you’re expected to:
- Own and lead dashboard development initiatives, driving the reporting roadmap and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality insights, analytics, and reporting solutions for key stakeholders.
- Analyze business data, generate reports, and create compelling data visualizations using business intelligence tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and provide actionable insights to all the relevant stakeholders periodically.
- Convert business questions about key metrics to relevant views on dashboards and design dashboards to drive intelligent insights.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and support implementation of operational enhancements and standardization efforts.
- Apply sound risk and control principles in business activities and escalate issues appropriately.
- Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform business decisions. Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Working knowledge of risk, controls, governance, and regulatory expectations within a financial services environment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams and functions.
- Ability to meet competing deadlines and maintain high-quality deliverables.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
- 10+ years of experience leading strategy, governance, transformation or relevant roles in financial services.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, with a focus on long-term impact.
- Highly analytical, with a proven ability to distill data and numbers into business outcomes, derive and communicate strategic insights and implications for senior leadership.
- Knowledge of AI fundamentals is required to effectively leverage Citi-approved AI tools and identify opportunities to enhance reporting, analytics, and dashboard development through intelligent automation and data-driven insights.
- Outstanding data storytelling skills, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, capable of influencing and engaging senior stakeholders across a matrixed organization.
- Should be able to independently own and project manage workstreams involving multiple stakeholders, show strong sense of accountability and decisiveness in strong work ethic.
- Must be ready for hands on involvement in measurement to identify roadblocks and uncover solutions, operate with curiosity driven.
- Must be process oriented and organized, operate efficiently to deliver high-quality work in a fast paced and dynamic environment across different teams.
- Clear understanding of benefits and limitations of reporting platforms in terms of breadth of visualization options, customizability, interactivity, connectivity to databases, near real-time updates etc.
- Attention to details with high accuracy in work; Strive for process improvement.
- Display the ability to prioritize effectively to meet routine processing deadlines.
- Pro-active, flexible, have good organizational skills and must be team player.
- Ability to work well under pressure and tight time frames.
Education
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Marketing, Business, Finance, Statistics.

- Comfortable to work in EMEA Shift 1:30 PM IST to 10:30 PM IST.
