About Weaviate

Weaviate is an AI startup with open source and creativity at its core. Our AI-native vector database uses machine learning to create meaningful insights from unstructured data in a completely new way. Named one of Forbes’ Top 50 AI startups, and with over a million monthly downloads, Weaviate is quickly growing in popularity with developers and enterprises alike.

Our team members work remotely across the globe with the flexibility to work from anywhere and at any time. Our people experience this as a massive benefit! Operating with a strong sense of ownership and collaboration, our teams prioritize results while empowering each individual to do their best work.

We are looking for a Content & Community Operations Manager to be the heartbeat of our social presence. You will bridge the gap between complex AI technology and engaging storytelling, making sure our operational engine runs smoothly while keeping our brand voice authentic, and charmingly to our tech-savvy audience.

The Role in a Nutshell

This is a hybrid role: 60% Operations & Project Management (keeping the trains running on time) and 40% Creative Execution (writing, visuals, and community engagement). You’ll take over the day-to-day management of our social channels and work with the team to scale our broader growth strategy.

What you will be working on

  • You’ll manage Weaviate's social media channels, including LinkedIn, Twitter, Threads, YouTube, and more. You create eye-catching visuals, videos, and written content that resonates with our developers’ audience.
  • Staying up to date on industry trends to support social media, ads, and our blogs calendar.
  • Structure and organize social media planning and calendars.
  • Track and report on social media metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Interact and engage with our community, maintaining the Weaviate brand voice.
  • Learn to leverage AI effectively to become a content marketing innovator: Use state-of-the-art AI tools to create captivating content that stands out.
  • Collaborate with growth, product, and engineering teams to create and execute online campaigns and follow an editorial calendar for consistent posting.
  • Optionally, build your own social media presence as a content creator and attend AI meetups to immerse yourself in the AI community with team support.

What you can expect

For us, it's also about educating, so we're not looking for candidates who already know everything. Instead, we will build this together and form our next-generation developer advocates.

What we are looking for

  • 2+ years in Marketing/Branding, ideally within a high-growth tech environment or agency.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for AI, coupled with a strong desire to learn and grow in the field.
  • Excellent English writing skills, as we’re going to create a lot of written content. It’s also about good storytelling and presenting our technical content charmingly to our tech-savvy audience.
  • A talent and eye for visualization, as the cherry on top of our written content, are appealing visuals.
  • Excellent collaborative and communication skills, comfortable working in a team environment as well as independently.

What would be nice to have but we’re also happy to build it

  • Some experience in creating visuals for technical concepts with common design and video editing tools, such as Figma, Miro, CapCut, or Adobe Illustrator.
  • Familiarity with SEO and GEO principles and how they impact design and content.
  • Familiar and active on social media platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, Threads, and Reddit.
  • Experience in creating visuals for technical concepts with common design and video editing tools, such as Figma, Miro, CapCut, or Adobe Illustrator.

  • Work with very experienced and fun team members.
  • An atmosphere that encourages learning and personal growth, and that gives you lots of freedom, flexibility, and responsibilities.
