Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Manager, Sales Analytics to lead and manage analytics supporting the Sales organization. This role will also partner with the broader sales analytics team on sales analytics efforts including compensation analytics/strategy, sales planning, territory management, dashboarding, agency analytics, business performance analytics, and comparative rater/digital analytics. This role partners with sales leadership, technical product managers, and product management, to establish a strategy and enhanced analytics offerings around compensation analytics and for sales. Requires hands-on experience in P&C sales analytics, product management, or related discipline. The ideal candidate will have a deep and broad understanding of P&C concepts, sales/underwriting, strong analytics acumen, and the ability to partner with team members across various disciplines – sales leadership, product management, data science, and IT.

$101,167 to $204,439 (NJ, NY, WA, HI, AK, MD, CT, RI, MA)
$91,970 to $185,853 (NV, OR, AZ, CO, WY, TX, ND, MN, MO, IL, WI, FL, GA, MI, OH, VA, PA, DE, VT, NH, ME)
$82,773 to $167,268 (UT, ID, MT, NM, SD, NE, KS, OK, IA, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, IN, SC, NC, WV)
In CA: Typical hiring range is $137,522.70 to $191,003.75
The expected base salary for this position will vary depending on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills and location.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
Sales Analytics Strategy & Consulting
- Working with the Head of Agency Analytics & Enablement and Sr. Sales Analytics manager to develop the long-term and short-term vision and strategy for Sales Analytics at Mercury
- Drives strong data integrity and accuracy across all work efforts
- Develops analytics solutions and delivers business insights/recommendations for a wide variety of sales analytics topics such as, compensation management, sales planning, agency analytics, sales performance management, initiative post-monitoring, territory, digital analytics, and sales performance analytics
- Partners with Head of Agency Compensation to vet and scenario test new compensation models, including standard commissions, bonuses, and incentives; must have experience developing ROIs, forecasting, and other scenario testing models for P&C insurance
- Supports analytics efforts to drive a consolidated, targeted, forward-thinking approach to delivering insights to sales team members from sales reps to senior leadership, leveraging deep business knowledge, efficient means of identifying insights (leveraging tools like AI), and confidence in recommending strategies
- Oversee the development of complex models and A/B testingand partner with data science team on configurations of models, interpretation of results, and business recommendations leveraging advanced analytics. Experience with A/B testing is preferred
- Strong data management skills required; SQL experience required
- Experience leveraging AI tools to drive efficiencies
- Experience with data visualization packages – PowerBI, Tableau; very comfortable telling the story via data/analytics in a relevant way to the business
Team Partnership & Collaboration
- Collaborate with sales leadership, the sales analytics team, and cross-functional partners to shape and drive analytics-led sales strategy while upholding high productivity and quality standards
- Translate business partner needs across data science, IT, product management, and underwriting into actionable analytics solutions
- Have a natural curiosity and drive to find analytics solutions to a wide array of sales-oriented business topics; takes initiative on finding creative and efficient solutions
- Provide thought-leadership around business recommendations based of insights learned from the analytics
Project Management & Reporting
- Comfortable managing a high-volume workload of varied projects with competing or shifting priorities
- Proactively communicates project status and delivers concise, insight-driven reporting to stakeholders across analytics tools, verbal, and written channels
Qualifications
Education:
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Analytics, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a P&C analytics role; experience working with sales/underwriting preferred
Experience
Minimum:
- 6 years of experience in the Property & Casualty insurance industry.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with P&C analytics and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Advanced skills with Power BI, Tableau or other data visualization tools
- Proven ability in leveraging data insights to improve business results
- Proven ability to develop relationships and drive results across various functions
- Advanced knowledge of Sales, processes, and practices
- Intellectual and analytical curiosity
- Must have the ability to produce quality work within tight timeframes, simultaneously manage multiple projects and a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, Word, and Visio
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office products
- Advanced oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage and coach others
- Ability to build momentum for change and action
