Company: Analog Devices India Pvt. Ltd. (ADI)
Location: Bengaluru (Bangalore), India
1) Job Description (Automotive Infotainment Audio)
Responsibilities & Scope
- Define, Develop, prototype, and productize automotive in‑car infotainment audio algorithms across the cabin audio signal chain, including (but not limited to) algorithms like Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC), Acoustic & voice cancellation, Road Noise Cancellation (RNC), Personalized Sound Zones (PSZ), In‑Car Communication (ICC), Voice activity detection, trigger word recognition, etc.
- Own algorithm lifecycle activities: requirements interpretation, algorithm design, simulation, development, validation, and tuning, translating concepts into robust, production‑ready implementations
- Execute embedded implementation and optimization of algorithms on target ADI DSP platforms and relevant SoC platforms (ARM‑based and similar), ensuring real‑time performance and memory efficiency
- Integrate audio algorithms into automotive embedded software stacks and frameworks, ensuring functionality, performance, and reliability on target platforms and reference systems
- Contribute to system‑level integration and verification of real‑time automotive products, including debugging complex multi‑domain issues spanning algorithm, firmware, and platform layers
- Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders (systems, firmware/platform, QA, product, customer teams) to refine feature requirements, validate behavior in real vehicles, and support customer integration needs
- Apply AI/ML methods where beneficial (e.g., model‑assisted estimation, adaptive scene classification, learning‑based enhancement) to improve robustness and user experience (role requirement).
- Use agentic and AI‑enabled productivity tools across the engineering lifecycle (e.g., AI‑assisted coding, test generation, documentation acceleration, and automated analysis) to improve quality, throughput, and traceability (role requirement).
- Document engineering work products (design notes, configuration/guidelines, verification evidence) in alignment with structured development expectations (like ASPICE) typically used in automotive software programs
- Demonstrate strong ownership: ability to work independently, address change requests, and iterate quickly via rapid prototyping to validate hypotheses
- Ability to create solutions and add value to customer audio system problems through patentable IPs and innovative methods
2) Qualifications — Academic Background, Experience, Skillset & Soft Skills
- Education / Academic Record Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, Signal Processing, Embedded Systems, or equivalent with 7-8 years of experience in audio signal processing and AI enabled algorithm developments on embedded platforms
- Strong fundamentals in signal processing and algorithmic thinking; exposure to MATLAB-based modeling/simulation is valuable
- Core Technical Skills (Must Have) Strong programming skills in Embedded C/C++ with a disciplined approach to real‑time and performance‑critical development
- Solid embedded systems fundamentals including RTOS concepts, concurrency, timing, and debugging
- Demonstrated ability to develop and integrate software on ADI DSPs and ARM‑based SoC/ASSP platforms interfacing with ADI parts and automotive reference systems
- Experience in algorithm-to-embedded translation: floating/fixed‑point considerations (as applicable), latency budgeting, memory/performance profiling, and platform‑aware optimization (role requirement).
- Audio / Automotive Domain Skills (Strongly Preferred) Background in automotive audio infotainment software projects and/or cabin audio use cases
- Hands‑on familiarity with one or more: AEC/voice enhancement, RNC/ANC-style adaptation, beamforming/sound zones, in‑car communication, and related cabin audio processing
- AI / Tooling Skills (Expected for This Role) Practical exposure to applying AI/ML techniques in signal processing / audio enhancement contexts (e.g., feature extraction, classification, learning‑based estimators) (role requirement).
- Comfort using AI-enabled and agentic engineering tools to accelerate coding, testing, debugging, and documentation while maintaining engineering rigor and traceability (role requirement).
- Professional & Soft Skills Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills; able to break down ambiguous problems and converge on pragmatic solutions
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams and customer-facing stakeholders when needed
- Self-starter mindset with strong ownership, ability to handle multiple tasks in parallel, and a learning-oriented attitude
