Job Summary
The IT Manufacturing Systems Analyst/Engineer supports MES and SAP-integrated manufacturing solutions across global factory operations. This role is responsible for configuration, functional analysis, troubleshooting, testing, and deployment of MES enhancements and production support changes. The position contributes directly to manufacturing stability and productivity, including supporting initiatives such as digital instructions, production scheduling, serialization alignment, shop-floor automation, and Connected Worker capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Systems Analysis & Configuration
- Perform Manufacturing Execution System (MES) configuration for workflows, work instructions, WIP steps, Non conformances (NC)/QN handling, data collection, and routing changes.
- Validate MES–SAP data flows including order creation, Bill of Materials (BOM) download, routing synchronization, material consumption, and confirmations.
- Assist with SAP Production planning (PP)/QM/EWM-related testing and integration scenarios.
Production Support
- Troubleshoot and resolve MES–SAP mismatches (serialization, order alignment, quality record sync, etc.).
- Analyze logs, error traces, and interface messages to diagnose issues.
- Work closely with operations teams to stabilize shop-floor processes.
Projects & Enhancements
- Execute change requests, enhancements, regression testing, UAT, and documentation.
- Support rollout of strategic Manufacturing Projects
- Collaborate with senior specialists to implement improvements and automation opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3–7 years of IT experience, including 2–3 years in Manufacturing IT.
- Hands-on experience configuring or supporting MES applications.
- Functional understanding of SAP PP and basic exposure to SAP QM/EWM.
- Ability to analyze issues, interpret logs, and debug integration flows.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with digital work instructions, IoT integrations, or shop-floor mobility solutions.
- Familiarity with production order execution flows in high-tech manufacturing.
- Knowledge of ISA‑95 models for manufacturing hierarchy.
- Knowledge and usage of AI tools to help boost Mfg Productivity and help solve critical issues on the line.
Work Environment
- Based in Singapore supporting global multi-shift operations.
- Required to work with cross‑regional teams across Asia, US, and India.
- May involve occasional off-hours support for deployments or critical incidents.
Additional responsibilities:
- Serve as an interface with a customer sub-group within a business unit or functional areas for the purpose of business technology alignment, solution discovery, service management, project portfolio management and relationship management.
- Analyzes business requirements or issues, converts analysis to functional specifications, and designs solutions to meet cross functional business requirements or resolve issues. Perform and document software application configuration, prepare and execute testing scenarios and scripts (unit, integration, performance, regression acceptance) and data conversions.
- Provides business application functional support services to meet performance, availability, customer service level agreement, and customer satisfaction targets. Monitors specific IT systems or set of systems for availability, performance and capabilities and reports anomalies through predefined process. Oversees and/or completes root cause analysis and resolution of complex outages or incident trends working with infrastructure and technical teams, support providers and application vendors. Recommends and executes required corrective actions. Participate in evaluation and recommendation of patches, point releases, major upgrades and new systems.
- Delivers project and support services in area of responsibility within allocated budget. May be responsible for development of budgets for small to mid size projects and/or for timely renewal of maintenance and subscription contracts.
- Adheres to and guides junior staff and contingent workers to adhere to GIS project management, software application development, testing, service management, change management, RCA and other relevant processes, standards, governance and controls. May manage execution of sox controls and testing, and support internal and external audits.
- Plan and manage small to medium sized business application projects to ensure effective and efficient execution in line with guardrails of scope, timeline, budget and quality. May serve as a team lead on a larger, complex project.
- Oversees/manages contingent workers performing project and/or support services. Responsible for the selection, on boarding and off boarding of contingent workers in a timely manner. Mange contingent worker project/task assignments and ensure work product quality. Approves contingent worker time sheets/cost.
