The Role

As a Mainframe Storage Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients – which means some of the biggest in the world.

There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 5+ years of experience in Managing z/OS DASD storage in SMS-managed environments
• Develop, document and maintain procedures for system utilities such as backup/restore, performance tuning and configuration of environments as well as incremental backups as required
• Administer DFSMS / DFSMShsm, including storage groups, ACS routines, migration, backup, and recovery
• Perform capacity monitoring and planning, DASD additions, and volume balancing. Perform the space management activities such as VTOC resizing, Defrag, Compress/Reclaim/Release/Cleaning of datasets
• Participate in backup, recovery, and DR and Managing the Copy services / GDPS

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Experience with IBM z/OS Products: TSO/Utilities (3.4 etc); JCL; SDSF; IDCAMS; GDPS; CA Products
• Mainframe Modernization concepts
