Both sides of hiring stopped trusting the other in the same two years
Candidates cannot tell which postings are real. Employers cannot tell which resumes were written by the applicant. AI made it cheap to fake either one, and the signal that used to make this work has gone.
I do not have a fix. The partial one I have seen work is referrals, which is just an expensive way of saying human vouching still functions.
