Why applications go unanswered, from the other side

A single role can attract several hundred applications, rejection messages are frequently gated behind a system nobody owns, and the recruiter running it is usually filling eight other roles at the same time.

None of that makes silence acceptable, and candidates are right to dislike it. But it is a capacity and tooling failure rather than a judgement about the individual application, which is how it tends to be experienced.
