The junior squeeze is real, and pretending otherwise does not help anyone
Junior developer postings are down sharply against five years ago, and the work that used to fill a first year - boilerplate, small well-specified features, easy bug fixes - is the work assistants handle best.
What I have not seen a good answer to: where the mid-level engineers of 2030 are supposed to come from if nobody trains anyone now. Companies cutting the pipeline this year will be bidding against each other for that talent later.
