About the Opportunity

Are you an experienced clinical researcher interested in advancing artificial intelligence in biomedical research and evidence-based healthcare? This remote contractor opportunity allows you to apply your research expertise to AI training, scientific response evaluation, and clinical research content development.

As a Clinical Research Subject Matter Expert, you will review AI-generated research and biomedical content, assess scientific reasoning, and create expert-level prompts and reference answers. You will evaluate outputs for accuracy, methodological rigor, clarity, and relevance while identifying errors in study design, statistical interpretation, clinical trial methodology, bias, confounding, and evidence appraisal.

Your expertise will help improve how AI systems interpret clinical evidence, evaluate research findings, and communicate scientific conclusions accurately and responsibly.

Project availability notice: There is no immediate project assignment for this role. Qualified experts may be contacted when relevant opportunities become available and considered for future projects through the expert network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop AI training content: Create detailed prompts and gold-standard answers covering clinical research methodology, trial interpretation, evidence appraisal, and scientific communication.

  • Evaluate AI-generated responses: Review, compare, and rank outputs based on scientific accuracy, analytical rigor, clarity, and contextual relevance.

  • Assess study design: Evaluate research questions, study designs, endpoints, eligibility criteria, sample-size considerations, and methodological suitability.

  • Review statistical reasoning: Assess interpretations of effect sizes, confidence intervals, p-values, multiple comparisons, missing data, and sensitivity analyses.

  • Identify bias and confounding: Examine potential sources of bias, confounding, and misleading causal conclusions, including selection and measurement bias.

  • Evaluate clinical trial methodology: Review trial protocols, deviations, adverse-event and serious-adverse-event reasoning, data quality, monitoring concepts, and relevant Good Clinical Practice (GCP) principles.

  • Verify scientific claims: Fact-check medical and biomedical information and identify unsupported conclusions or misinterpretations of research evidence.

  • Improve AI reliability: Provide precise written feedback and identify inaccuracies, potentially unsafe recommendations, and bias across research scenarios.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant discipline, such as Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Clinical Research, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, or a related field.

  • At least five years of professional clinical research experience in academia, hospitals, contract research organizations (CROs), biopharmaceutical companies, public health research, or a related environment.

  • Strong knowledge of clinical research fundamentals, including study design, endpoints, inclusion and exclusion criteria, sample-size considerations, and interpretation of study results.

  • Ability to evaluate statistical reasoning involving effect sizes, confidence intervals, p-values, multiple comparisons, missing data, and sensitivity analyses.

  • Deep understanding of bias, confounding, and causal inference, including randomization, blinding, selection bias, measurement bias, survivorship bias, and collider bias.

  • Exceptional attention to detail when fact-checking scientific and medical content.

  • English proficiency at a minimum C1 level, with strong scientific writing and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and deliver consistent, high-quality work in a remote contractor environment across time zones.

Preferred Experience

  • AI data training, annotation, or AI response evaluation.

  • Medical or scientific editorial quality assurance.

  • Systematic reviews and evidence synthesis.

  • Clinical practice guideline development.

  • Clinical trial operations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

  • Research data quality assessment and scientific literature appraisal.

Core Skills and Expertise

Clinical research, clinical trial design, study methodology, biostatistics, epidemiology, evidence-based medicine, literature review, data interpretation, bias and confounding, causal inference, regulatory and GCP awareness, scientific writing, and English-language communication.

Work Arrangement and Compensation

  • Work arrangement: Remote, independent contractor.

  • Compensation: Up to $70 per hour.

  • Schedule: Flexible, subject to project requirements and availability.

  • Payment: Weekly payment for approved work, according to applicable project terms.

  • Interview: Required; conducted in English.

  • Availability: No immediate project is available. Qualified candidates may be considered for future assignments through the expert network.

The estimated annualized equivalent of up to $134,400 assumes 1,920 working hours per year. It is not a guaranteed salary or a promise of continuous project work.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

Apply your clinical research expertise to help develop AI systems that interpret scientific evidence, evaluate clinical trials, and communicate research findings more reliably. Your contribution can support stronger evidence appraisal, more rigorous scientific reasoning, and clearer biomedical communication.

Application Process

Qualified clinical research professionals can apply to be considered for the expert network. An interview is required, and suitable candidates may be contacted when relevant projects become available.
