Customer Project Engineer - Complex Gas Upgrades

We are seeking a Customer Project Engineer - Complex Gas Upgrades to join our team. You will coordinate conversions, modifications, and uprates of gas turbines and associated plant equipment, managing projects from order conversion through installation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical coordination for conversions, modifications, unit relocations, and uprates on in-service gas turbine power trains and BOP systems.

• Develop and monitor engineering project schedules to meet milestones defined by project management and customers.

• Communicate project scope and provide technical support across engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, field service, and service shop teams.

• Deliver technical presentations and ensure timely completion of project objectives while maintaining quality standards.

• Coach and mentor junior requisition engineers and promote professional growth within the global team.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, controls engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 8+ years of engineering or field experience in power generation, with direct exposure to gas turbines and combined‑cycle plant operations.

• Proven project engineering experience including schedule, scope, cost and risk management and cross‑functional coordination.

• Ability to interpret and produce engineering documentation such as P&IDs, one‑line diagrams, mechanical drawings, specifications and BOMs.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of BOP electrical equipment, control networks and GE gas turbine product lines.

• Strong communication, facilitation and influencing skills.

• Experience with GE Gas Turbine requisition processes and GT MLI/BOM structures.

• Systems‑thinking mindset for combined‑cycle power plant operations.
