Job description

Financial Due Diligence & Transaction Accounting Expert - Remote

Role Overview

  • Contract Type: Contractor

  • Location: Remote — United States and Canada preferred; United Kingdom and Latin America also considered

  • Compensation: $60–$120 per hour, paid per task

  • Time Commitment: Minimum 10 hours per week; 20+ hours preferred

  • Estimated Task Duration: Approximately 3 hours per task, following around 15 hours of initial environment development. Estimates include AI agent execution time.

About the Role

We are seeking experienced financial due diligence and transaction accounting professionals to review complex transaction-related financial analyses and evaluate the quality of AI-generated deliverables.

You will assess financial due diligence, quality of earnings (QoE), and carve-out analyses, challenging assumptions and identifying material errors, unsupported adjustments, reconciliation issues, and inconsistent accounting treatments. You will also use agentic AI tools to support analysis and help develop realistic transaction scenarios, task instructions, and objective evaluation criteria.

This role requires direct, hands-on transaction advisory experience and practical proficiency with agentic AI tools. General audit experience or a CPA qualification alone is not sufficient.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review financial due diligence, quality-of-earnings, and carve-out financial analyses for accuracy, completeness, and supporting evidence.

  • Challenge assumptions and identify unsupported adjustments, reconciliation discrepancies, double counting, and inconsistent accounting treatments.

  • Assess the reliability of financial analyses and the adequacy of evidence supporting transaction-related conclusions.

  • Use agentic AI tools to support financial analysis, review workflows, and the development of realistic transaction materials.

  • Develop clear task instructions and objective grading criteria for evaluating financial analyses and AI-generated deliverables.

  • Independently verify AI-generated outputs and identify material errors, analytical weaknesses, or unsupported conclusions.

  • Apply professional transaction accounting judgment to ensure deliverables meet appropriate standards of accuracy and rigor.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of professional experience, including substantive hands-on work in financial due diligence, transaction services, or carve-out financial analysis.

  • Direct responsibility for preparing or reviewing transaction-related financial analyses and deliverables.

  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate financial assumptions, adjustments, reconciliations, and supporting evidence critically.

  • Hands-on experience using agentic AI tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or Claude Cowork for substantive professional work.

  • Strong analytical judgment and attention to detail when reviewing complex financial information.

  • Ability to independently validate AI-generated analyses rather than relying on the tools' outputs without verification.

Important: General audit experience or a CPA qualification alone does not meet the transaction-specific experience requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience at a Big Four firm or another leading transaction advisory practice.

  • CPA qualification.

  • Experience developing review standards, training junior professionals, or documenting internal procedures and playbooks.

  • Prior experience in AI evaluation, benchmark development, or structured task design.

  • Availability to commit 20 or more hours per week.

Compensation and Work Arrangement

This is a remote contract opportunity with compensation of $60–$120 per hour, paid per task. A minimum commitment of 10 hours per week is required, with 20+ hours preferred.

Initial environment development is estimated at approximately 15 hours, followed by tasks averaging around 3 hours each. These estimates include AI agent execution time.

Selection Process

  1. Submit an application and complete the screening questions.

  2. Complete the role-specific AI interview to demonstrate your transaction advisory expertise and experience with agentic AI tools.

  3. Undergo profile review.

  4. Complete onboarding before beginning assigned work.
