Workload: Approximately 15 hours per week
Compensation: $80–$120 per hour
Payment Structure: Output-based, with payment for tasks meeting project specifications
About the Role
We are seeking highly skilled Mathematics Experts to contribute to AI training projects involving advanced mathematical problem-solving, computational mathematics, numerical methods, and Python programming.
You will develop, solve, review, and validate mathematical tasks through reproducible, programmatic workflows. The work involves translating mathematical requirements into executable procedures, implementing equations and algorithms, testing special cases, and verifying mathematical and numerical correctness.
Key Responsibilities
Solve and validate advanced mathematical and computational problems.
Translate mathematical requirements into precise, executable workflows.
Implement mathematical models, equations, and algorithms using Python and command-line tools.
Automate calculations, numerical experiments, parameter sweeps, and result validation.
Use computational tools to visualize results and investigate mathematical behavior.
Test edge cases and verify the accuracy, consistency, and reproducibility of solutions.
Review mathematical tasks and assess whether results satisfy defined specifications.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following educational and experience pathways:
A master’s degree or PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computational Science, Theoretical Computer Science, or a closely related quantitative field; or
A bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a closely related quantitative field, plus at least 1–2 years of mathematics-focused professional or research experience at leading companies or institutions.
Additional requirements:
Strong expertise in at least one mathematical discipline, such as applied mathematics, numerical analysis, optimization, probability, statistics, discrete mathematics, algebra, geometry, mathematical modeling, or dynamical systems.
Practical programming proficiency, particularly in Python.
Ability to translate mathematical concepts into computational methods and validate numerical results.
Strong analytical reasoning and attention to mathematical detail.
Relevant Tools and Technologies
Experience with Python libraries and computational mathematics tools may include:
Scientific computing: NumPy, SciPy, pandas
Symbolic mathematics: SymPy, SageMath
Optimization: CVXPY and related optimization libraries
Statistics and modeling: statsmodels and domain-specific scientific packages
Visualization and workflows: Matplotlib, Jupyter, GNU Octave, Julia, and command-line-accessible tools
Equivalent tools are acceptable where they demonstrate relevant computational capability. No single library is mandatory.
Compensation and Work Arrangement
The role offers $80–$120 per hour, with payment based on completed tasks that meet project specifications. Task duration may vary depending on expertise and workflow, and minimum submission requirements apply.
The expected workload is approximately 15 hours per week, with flexible scheduling, including weekends if preferred.
Selection Process
Submit an application and complete the screening questions.
Complete an AI interview of approximately 30 minutes.
Participate in a hiring manager review.
Start Timeline
Selected candidates should be ready to begin their first task within 24–48 hours after completing onboarding.
