Personal Finance Expert (UK)

Contract · Remote · United Kingdom

Annual Compensation Equivalent: $172,800–$211,200
Hourly Rate: $90–$110/hr

About the Role

This contract role focuses on evaluating and improving household financial workflows, personal finance guidance, and advisory processes for UK consumers.

You will apply professional knowledge of UK personal finance, savings, pensions, mortgages, and personal taxation to complete realistic financial workflows, evaluate AI-generated financial guidance, review financial documentation, and help develop rigorous evaluation criteria.

No prior experience in AI is required.

What You’ll Do

  • Complete real-world personal finance workflow tasks, including reviewing transactions, budgeting, and organizing financial accounts.

  • Work with securely connected UK bank accounts, with personally identifiable information redacted before downstream use.

  • Apply professional judgment to UK-specific financial topics, including ISAs, pensions and SIPPs, mortgages, savings, and HMRC Self Assessment.

  • Provide clear and concise written explanations of financial processes, decisions, and outcomes.

  • Review and critique AI-generated financial guidance against defined evaluation rubrics.

  • Identify inaccuracies, omissions, inconsistencies, and other issues and provide actionable feedback.

  • Verify and interpret financial documentation related to UK household finances, account types, filing deadlines, and financial decisions.

  • Contribute to the development and refinement of evaluation rubrics and grading criteria for personal finance outputs.

  • Stay current with relevant changes to UK personal tax, pension, savings, and related financial regulations.

What We’re Looking For

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in UK personal finance, banking, wealth management, financial advising, accountancy, tax planning, or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of UK household financial matters, including ISAs, pensions/SIPPs, mortgages, savings, and Self Assessment.

  • Formal education in finance, accounting, economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Current residence in the United Kingdom.

  • Active UK-based personal or business bank accounts.

  • Professional credentials such as CFP, DipPFS, FCA-authorised IFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CTA, or ATT.

  • Additional designations such as CFA or CTP are a plus.

  • Strong financial document handling, interpretation, and troubleshooting skills.

  • Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly to different audiences.

  • Experience developing or applying evaluation rubrics, reviewing model outputs, or contributing to AI training projects is desirable but not required.

Engagement & Compensation

  • Annual compensation equivalent of $172,800–$211,200 based on 40 hours per week across 48 workable weeks

  • Actual earnings will depend on hours and assignments available
