Job description

Sales / Revenue / Customer Success Operations Expert - Remote

Role Overview

  • Employment Type: Contract

  • Location: Remote — United States or Canada

  • Compensation: $40–$85 per hour

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Sales, Revenue, or Customer Success Operations professionals to contribute their expertise to an AI training project focused on real-world SaaS operations.

This role centers on practical experience with CRM configuration, connected revenue systems, workflow design, and operational decision-making. You will evaluate realistic business scenarios, explain the rationale behind your decisions, and demonstrate how to resolve complex operational challenges without introducing unnecessary process complexity. Previous AI experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • CRM and workflow design: Evaluate CRM configuration decisions, operational workflows, and integration trade-offs across sales, revenue, and customer success functions.

  • Policy interpretation: Resolve conflicts between operational policies by determining which rules should take precedence, explaining the rationale, and identifying what should remain unchanged.

  • Data accuracy and reporting: Investigate discrepancies across connected systems, including duplicate records, inconsistent definitions, and mismatched figures, and explain how to identify their root causes.

  • Workflow adoption: Assess why sales and customer success teams adopt, adapt, or bypass established processes and identify practical ways to improve adoption.

  • Requirements clarification: Recognize ambiguous or incomplete scenarios and flag missing information rather than making unsupported assumptions.

  • Decision documentation: Communicate the reasoning behind operational recommendations clearly, balancing business needs, system constraints, and process simplicity.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience in sales operations, revenue operations, or customer success operations within a SaaS environment.

  • Direct responsibility for configuring and maintaining a CRM platform, such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or a comparable system. Experience limited to requesting changes from another team is insufficient.

  • Practical experience with at least two additional tools outside the CRM, such as quoting, billing, ticketing, or project tracking platforms.

  • Strong understanding of how CRM systems and connected revenue tools support business processes.

  • Sound operational judgment, particularly when resolving policy conflicts and balancing competing requirements.

  • Experience investigating data quality issues and interpreting operational reports.

  • Ability to explain complex operational decisions and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
